The entire 20 minutes of the car ride, I clung onto my seat, fearing for my life. But to my absolute relief, Dani didn't even come close to crashing. She must be a pretty good driver.

I climbed out of the car on shaky legs and reached down to grab my bag. I shut the car door and looked around. We were in an underground carpark. A lift lobby stood close by and I hurried to catch up with Dani as she strolled towards it.

As Dani scanned her card and opened the door to the lobby, I asked. "Why didn't you go with mum and dad?"

"I don't really like Paris." Dani shrugged. "And I can't exactly leave you on your own. I already knew about their plans to leave you behind a couple of weeks ago so I forced them to buy me an apartment here so I could live on my own with you."

I nodded slowly, not bothering to argue with her. I was just glad that Dani stayed.

As we stepped into the lift and went up to the 10th floor, I yawned and laid my head against the mirror of the lift.

Dani flashed me a small smile, "Tired, eh?"

"Yeah." I muttered just as the lift door opened. I stepped out and Dani led me down the hall to the left. I glanced at the other apartments. They looked small compared to my house. I silently counted how many apartments there were in the left hall and counted three. I knew there were more around the corner; I had seen them when I left the lift.

Dani unlocked the gate to the apartment and suddenly there was a bark behind me. I tensed and spun around to see a medium sized white dog standing next to me. His white fur was very long and thick and he stood beside me, his curled tail wagging happily.

Dani chuckled, "He lives at the top floor, the 15th, his owners always let him roam the halls alone and he always comes down to my apartment for some attention. Though watch out, he sometimes pees by the door... I have no idea why but that's what he does." My sister shrugged with a grin down at the dog and walked inside.

I looked back at the dog to see him trotting off towards the fire escape stairs. That must be how he moves up and down the levels..

Dani sighed, "Get inside Rain." I nodded and swiftly walked up the two steps and across the marble floor outside the main door.

"Dani why are there two doors?" I wondered.

"It's for security reasons." Dani shrugged again as she unlocked the wooden door and stepped inside. "Leave your shoes outside the main door and come inside."

I took off my trainers and stepped into the apartment. It was tiny. I held back a gasp. I wasn't used to such a small space.

The kitchen could barely fit one person in it and all the counters, sink and fridge were squished together awkwardly. There wasn't even an oven!

My gaze turned from the kitchen and towards the living room. There was a circular table in the middle with Dani's laptop on it. There was a TV and an old sofa sitting at the end and a small balcony that looked over a small community of houses across the road.

Dani said, "I have the master bedroom. You get two smaller rooms." She pointed down a small hall towards two rooms. One was small. The only thing inside was a small wardrobe and a single bed. I peeked inside the bigger one to see a desk, a bigger wardrobe and a queen sized bed.
I immediately chose the bigger bedroom and placed my bag on the bed.

"So now what?" I asked Dani.

"How about we go down to that Freddy's place you love so much?"

I squealed, happy to be able to go there. "Oh, yes please!"
