An hour later, I was in the police station, uncuffed sitting in Shoupe's office, while my healthy leg quickly bounced, in total boredom. The only thing that strung in my mind was John B going to jail. Not even myself getting arrested. I could care less. Well, maybe a little care for it, but I'll be out soon.

John B won't.

My thoughts and movements were interrupted by the glass door opening, and the black curtain shutters rattling. I peeked up watching Shoupe walk in with an unfazed stare, and we locked eyes as he lightly shut the door.

"Well hello, Madalyn." Shoupe greeted, with a small puff at the end. I faked a large smile as I rested both hands behind the back of my head.

"You're like a little rock in my shoe. I shake the foot, I think I've gotten it out, then dang. There it is again." Shoupe explained as he walked toward his seat in front of me.

"Maybe...watch where your stepping." I shrugged my shoulders and gave him a confident stare. Instead of replying, he rolled his brown eyes, and a small smirk appeared on my lips.

"You're the female version of Maybank. Just like him." Shoupe whispered, shaking his head in disbelief as he moved a pile of papers to the side of his desk.

"Thanks. Not the first time someone told me that." I muttered, tugging my arms down, and folding them against my chest. "I don't know if that's a good thing, Madalyn."

"Anyways, I didn't get arrested to talk about my boyfriend. Let's cut to the chase." I switched the subject, watching him place his full attention on me.

"How long will I be arrested for?" I asked, but he just cracked up. "Oh, Frame." He kept on laughing, as he brought his finger up and pinched the skin in between his eyebrows.

"Are you okay, Shoupe?" I questioned, raising my eyebrows before he eventually finished his quiet laughter. "Yes, but I wasn't being serious."

"What do you mean?" I asked, slowly slipping my arms away from the back of my head, and letting them rest on my side. "I'm not going to actually arrest you. Just lecture you." Shoupe admitted.

"Are you kidding me, Shoupe?" I threw my hands up in the air. "What's the matter? You got scared?" He teased but I immediately shook my head.

"You could be working on a freaking case right now, but you want to waste your time by lecturing me." I pointed out.
