"Are you sure this is a good idea, Jayj?" I questioned, while JJ, Kiara, and I quietly walked down the long porch towards the two boys who gazed up at the dark and star-shining Outer Banks sky.

"Of course it is, Madalyn, all my ideas are good." JJ halfly reassured me, essentially sending me no consolation or idea that this was going to be worth it.

All of our hands were crammed with cold beer cans, which made a couple of chills run up my slim arms that were covered with a huge dark green hoodie, ending at my kneecaps, which belonged to my boyfriend, of course. After John b's long and painful sob on our shoulders, he's been laying out on the edge of the dock for hours on end, staring up at the atmosphere that slowly faded above him. He always found it relaxing. And for this moment, that's what he needed.

Kiara let out a slight giggle and tossed her head back before she uttered, "I didn't know we were playing two truths and a lie."

"Shut up." JJ faked a laugh.

"But when I'm stressed, I either drink or do the stickiest of the ickest," JJ informed us, earning a small gag from the girl next to me.

"JJ, we don't need to know your past relationship with your hand." Kiara shook her head, whipping her head towards the blonde boy. "Well, I'm sure my girlfriend finds that fact hot." JJ shot back until both of their eyes peeked over to my awkward complexion.

"No comment," I murmured.

"Anyways," I deeply cleared my throat before I switched the subject by saying, "Why are we getting John drunk? That's not removing the breakup, they still broke up. You're just going to give him a killer headache tomorrow morning."

"Do you want a microphone? Why are you so loud, you ruining our surprise for him." JJ softly nudged my shoulder with his. "Surprise from hell," I whispered, with a tiny scoff.

"It's just to get his mind off of it, to tell him that she doesn't deserve him. And he can have someone better." JJ told me before my brown and neat eyebrows lifted.

"Hey, be nice when you're talking about Sarah. She had a reason, and I'm not infuriated at her." I defended my best friend, and I heard JJ quietly hum.

"I didn't mean it in that way, but you know, I'm trying to help him out, make him believe that there can be something good out of the break-up."

"All I know, is I'm getting drunk tonight," Kiara spoke, with a small and excited shriek before we turned the sharp corner of the long brown dock, and stepped down the ramp.
