You and Wally are heading to Wally's house. Wally told you that he's expecting a delivery to arrive today and offers to tag along with him.You of course agree to tag along with Wally. You even told Wally that you promised him that you'll spend a whole day with him. You never break your promise.
While you two are waiting for the mail delivery, you hear someone panting as if they're out of breath. You turn your head to the sound, only to see Eddie on the double.
"Hey hey! Ya'll I'm-a comin'!" Eddie pant, "Just be a second! I'll be right there-!" Before you can react, Eddie trips and bumps into you causing you to fall.
"Good night alive," Eddie muttered, "I really ought to look at where my feet are goin', huh?"
"Ow..." you groan in pain.
"Oh my gosh! [NAME], are you alright?" Eddie asked before giving you a hand.
"Y-yeah, I'm alright," you replied as he pulled you up.
Eddie looks at Wally then remembers something, "oh, hold on, buddy! There are yours. I'd forgotten that I had 'em out to give 'em to ya!" Eddie hands the package to Wally and then gathers the other packages, "thank the stars I hadn't dropped nothin' fragile..." Eddie sighs in relief, "I had no idea how late it had gotten, I'm plum tuckered after all of this runnin' around. It ain't even the first time I fell today. Ran into a few buildings on the way here, too..."
"Oh geez Eddie, you gotta be careful," you commented.
"Tell me about it," Eddie said, "y'know how Julie likes to do her drawin' on the sidewalks and all?"
"Of course!" you said proudly, "I sometimes helped her out!"
"Well, she drew up a hopscotch on the curb this mornin' and I just couldn't help myself. I just had to have a hop, skip and a jump to start my day!" Eddie said.
"I can't blame you Eddie, I would have done the same thing, even when my [insert family name] told me that I'm "too old" to do that, but that won't stop me!" you said.
"I really am accident prone I figure," Eddie commented, "because my face ended up meetin' the payment." Eddie laughed a little, leaving you a bit confused but who are you to judge? "I may have been ragged today and tossed around," Eddie said, "but I'm still fair to middlin' even after that bowlin' ball order. I suppose I don't got much more runnin' left to do today though, unless ya got somethin for me to carry for ya!"
You remain quietly listening to Eddie while Wally is looking around, as if he was trying to look for someone.
"Is there any letter, package, or parcel you need me to run for ya-" Eddie suddenly looks a bit anxious, "w-wait, wh-what are you lookin' around me for?"
"Mailman! You got any packages for little old me?" Barnaby asked while running, "my kazoo collection should have been in my mailbox today! Where is it?!"
Eddie panicked, "n-now Barnaby, you know better! I have to put your mail in your mailbox! It's policy!"
"You know a dog like me doesn't do policy, pal!" Barnaby responded.
"He's got a point," you said to Eddie.
"The only policy I follow is the creed all dogs follow: chasing your local mailman!" Barnaby said.
"Great... he's starting to remind me of [insert a dog's name]," you muttered as you facepalm.
"Aw! I hate that policy!" Eddie said, sounding uneasy and started running off, "I'll beat ya to your mailbox, lickity split! if I don't split my lickity!"
Barnaby pants as he slows down a bit, standing next to you and Wally. "I was this close to dogpiling him," he said, "next time, don't give Eddie any hints, eh Wally?"
