Y/N POV
I spent the last few hours isolated away in my room trying to come up with any lyrics. We had a good grasp on the instrumentals of our song, but I couldn’t find a way to wrap up the last of the lyrics. Writer's block has hit me really hard the last few days, and I had been hoping that practicing instruments would kick my brain into gear. We have about three days left until our audition for the club, and I’m still struggling to finish the song. On top of that my writing time is going to be cut short because I already told everyone they could come over to hang out.
Suddenly, my phone next to me on my desk started vibrating. I had realized I was just zoned out and staring at the notepad of paper in front of me. I checked my phone to find out it was a text message from Evelynn.
DemonessDiva: Hey, I’m on my way over, gonna pick up Sarah on my way. Do you want me to bring anything
Y/N: *Thinking Emoji* I don’t know, maybe some snacks or something, we have plenty of stuff to drink here.
DemonessDiva: Okay :)! How many people are there going to be?
Y/N: Well, there’s Ezreal, Aphelios, Allan, and I. Kai’sa is bringing Taliyah and Cameron as well. Then it’s whoever you're bringing with you.
DemonessDiva: Hmmm, okay then, I’ll pick up some stuff on our way then.
Y/N: Sounds good, see you soon Eve.
I set my phone down and got up where I had been sitting for the last 4 hours. I figured now would be a good time to stretch. While I was mid stretch I felt my stomach rumble. It has just now become very apparent that I have not eaten all day. I got down to the kitchen and opened the fridge. There wasn’t really much to eat so I went ahead and just made a simple Ham sandwich with Pepper Jack Cheese. It wasn’t a whole lot but I wanted to get back to being somewhat productive.
I know that it would be annoying, but I figured I could get a head start on setting up our pseudo studio in the living room. It would save us the trouble of doing it later when we all want to get to work. I gathered all the thick blankets we had sitting out on the couch for easy access. Hanging them up wasn’t very hard, but getting them to stay hanging up due to the weight of them was the harder of the two tasks. Next thing on the agenda was moving all of the furniture to create an open area to set up all of our instruments. I moved the couch and chairs to make a lopsided circle around the instrument area. I moved all the amps and guitars into their respective places. I was not going to touch Aphelios’s drum set, he is very particular about handling it. The last time I moved it without him, I got a drumstick to the back and had a bruise for weeks.Speaking of Aphelios, he walked into the living room and sat down in a reclining chair, eating Mooncakes. Mooncakes are Aphelios’s favorite snack, even if it's weird he eats them without frosting.
“How’s the lyrics coming along”, Aphelios asks with a mouth full of food.
“Honestly, I’m starting to feel a little pressure. I can’t think of anything that really has that ‘oomf’ behind it”, I let out a deep exhale.
“You’ve always been really good at that stuff. It’s just now you’re working on a deadline”, Aphelios reassures me.
Aphelios stands up from the chair he had been sitting on to go wash his hands.
“I believe in your ability to get it done”, he yells back at me as he enters the kitchen.
Going into this I thought the idea of being on a deadline would inspire me to come up with something. But it seems to have had the opposite effect on me. It feels like everytime now I try to just sit and put words to paper, I feel sick to my stomach. Like I could convulse at any point, and then I have to take a break. My nerves have started to get to me closer to our audition, and I am at a loss on how to get over it.
