You're at the end of the story. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for making it this far. You survived. We all survived. And let us always strive to survive.
This part was written mainly because I don't want people to misunderstand the story. I don't want you to focus on just how rude and unethical the characters were, but dive deeper instead. Since this is the first time that I've written a story like this, I felt the need to reinforce it with some personal thoughts.
I know that the story was harsh, but let's admit that the scenes were realistic. More importantly, I wrote it to deliver a message or a lesson that I hope you were able to pick up. So, here are some:
1. Do not act on impulse.
Please, from the bottom of my heart, I beg all of you not to act out of impulse. Impulsive decisions do not often bring desirable outcomes. I know there are certain times when we fail to control our overwhelming emotions, but do not let them get over you. Words, once said, are impossible to take back. Damages that have been done are impossible to erase. There's a reason why we cannot go back to the past. Aside from being impossible, the past is also unforgettable. Unless you hit your head and gain amnesia. But even lost memories may come back through time. So, try to lord your emotions. Regret is a challenging opponent. It can haunt you for a lifetime.
2. Think of the consequences of every action.
This is a connected thought. I was once told that we cannot redo something that's already been done. I remember my papa telling me that before I do something, I have to think about it multiple times, analyze it over and over again, and view it from different perspectives. I hope that you do the same.
3. Hear what they have to say.
I know that this is hard. Especially if you feel like you were wronged. If you feel like you were cheated or duped, it's really hard to hear what people have to say. You're probably thinking that they do not have the right to even talk to you. But hear what they have to say. No matter how hard. There's always a reason for everything. Some may be masking the real intent with something else. Who knows? Their reason might actually be valid. If not, then at least you knew. At least you knew that your decision was right.
4. Communicate. Hiding and running away will not solve anything.
I know there are certain things that we can't just bring ourselves to tell other people. It might be because we're ashamed, afraid, or protecting something. But try to communicate. They might understand. They might help you get through it. Let's not fool ourselves. Keeping something alone is hard. It's troublesome. It's painful. So try to let it out. There is no need to act strong all the time.
5. Rape will never be right.
Rape, no matter what form, is wrong. Rape is a crime. As well as any other sexual assault. There is no justification for rape. So if you ever realize that you've been violated sexually, speak about it. Report it to the authorities.
6. Suicide is never an option.
Although TFTF involves suicide, I do not advocate for it. I merely showed you the harsh reality of life and of people in general. Some battles are just so hard for other people to face that the only solution they can think of is ending their lives. I understand that. However, suicide should never be the solution. There will always be days where we lose all hope, but that's not a ticket for you to give up. There's always a tomorrow. The sun will always rise. Tomorrows are uncertain and who knows if a new sprout of hope will arise. Don't give up. I know it's easier said than done, but try to hold on. There are people who will be willing to hold you and lift you up. You're not alone. Even if you feel like no one's around, you're not alone. You will never be alone.
