For the first time ever, I don't care about shopping.

Rebekah has updated me on the situation with the witches and although I haven't been asked to yet, I plan on helping unlink Hayley and Sophie. Unfortunately, Beks doesn't know much about what linking spell was used so I'll have to talk to Kol about it.

We visit so many different stores, my beautiful wife refusing to leave until I have an obscene amount of clothes. I protest but she insists, wanting to take care of me.

"When I was un-daggered each time, you reintroduced me back to the world. Now it's my time to return the favour," she smiles lovingly at me and kisses my lips softly.

"Thank you," I smile back, appreciating her help.

It's so overwhelming being thrown into a different century. It's like a whole new life.

We buy dresses and trousers and elegant blouses for me, and Rebekah buys a few things for herself too. She suggests compelling the staff to give us the clothes for free but I put my foot down and say no. That's not fair, it's not like we're broke either.

I'm warned very early on about refraining from using any magic. Witches aren't allowed and somehow the vampires always know. It's an absurd rule and I mean to get to the bottom of it. There must be another witch involved to tell him each time.

Who is running this town anyway if not Klaus? There's no way Klaus would create that rule oppressing the witches, would he?

I return home and Elijah carries my bags inside for me, always the wonderful gentleman. I kiss him passionately as we stumble around the corner together.

"Oh I've missed you," I tell him emotionally. I haven't had a chance to speak to him alone yet.

"And I've missed you, wife," his hands drop the bags of clothes and settle on my waist as he holds me firmly against the wall.

Tension crackles between us and I lean in, brushing my lips over his. My heart beats fast, I need him. Now.

"Klaus," Hayley calls from the main room downstairs, breaking the heated moment before we can kiss. "I'm back. What was so urgent?"

I sigh and peck Elijah's lips before heading around the corner to where my whole family waits for me.

Rebekah showed me how to contact Kol on something called a mobile phone device. I rang him on our way home and discussed the link between Hayley and that other witch.

I suggested a way to break it, based on the details Kol gave me on how the binding works. Kol seems to agree that using both Hayley and Klaus' blood with the specific delinking spell I know, would work to free both Hayley and the baby.

We have to try.

"Make sure you hide your magic while you do it," Kol reminds me of the unnecessary trouble I'd bring us all if I don't.

I still need to ask more about that situation but for now I focus on masking my magic. It's tricky but not impossible.

No one tells me about my son Marcellus.

"Please hold out your palm," I instruct both Hayley and Klaus, ignoring the pain that sears in my chest when I think about them having a baby together.
