"No more sex," Kol moans dramatically and I roll my eyes at his silly behaviour.

"God, how will you survive husband?" I snipe back in amusement.

"I won't," he says mournfully, feeling sorry for himself. "I love you too much."

His sweet reason is why I don't get irritated with him. He will survive, he's just a complainer. And when we have sex after a break, it will be even better.

"I love you too Kol," I repeat back because if I don't he gets all upset with me. "Just remember it's only temporary."

Our conversation naturally slows and a few minutes later Elijah marches into the room. I can tell by the look on his face that he's very distressed, even if he maintains his calm composure.

"What is it?"

I'm up and out of my chair before he can even speak, wrapping my arms around his waist and tilting my chin up for a kiss. He indulges, never one to deny me, before pulling away and calling Beks and Klaus into the room.

"Radiotherapy will leave Ophelia infertile again," Elijah announces his discovery from trawling online medical research.

The excruciating stillness in the room makes me close my eyes as I wait for them all to explode.

"What?" Kol growls through his gritted teeth, enraged already. My heart simply breaks because I knew it was too good to be true.

"Radiotherapy for cervical cancer damages the womb too," Elijah states matter of factly. He is resigned and seems to have given up. I can't blame him.

"I am going to skin your new doctor alive and feed him his own skewered flesh," Klaus' eyes flash dangerously, reflecting his murderous desires.

Even Bekah nods in agreement, picking up her phone to demand the doctor meet with us this instant.

Elijah starts pacing, Klaus seethes and Kol refuses to let me out of his arms as Bekah willingly accepts two jobs: bringing the doctor here and holding Hope.

"Let me put her down for a nap," I suggest, seeing my sleepy daughter struggle to keep her eyes open.

Kol allows me out of his arms to take her to her nursery and she takes a while to settle. Watching her innocent eyes fight sleep calms me somewhat as a perilous situation fast approaches.

And then the doctor arrives at the front entrance.

He carries his briefcase which Kol scoffs at and calls a cheap fake. I blink and suddenly Klaus and Elijah have him up against a wall, fixing him with matching wrathful glares.

"You lied about our wife," Klaus' shoulders shake with anger he can barely contain.

"Radiotherapy will render her infertile, when were you going to inform us of this detrimental piece of information?" Elijah takes over, in his element as he interrogates a perceived enemy. He is rather intimidating and I lick my lips, slightly turned on by his dominance. God, have I missed that in bed.

"Our lasers will not," the doctor squabbles back but it's hard to believe him when his voice rises higher and higher with each word.

"I don't believe you," Bekah strides forwards, holding up a knife in a manner that makes the doctor gulp. Nothing else needs to be said to understand her threat.

"No, no it's true," he argues hurriedly, knowing he can't waste any time. "Our lasers can be angled to miss the uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes. Mrs Mikaelson will be able to have children."

"How certain are you?" Kol interrupts now, not sure what to believe.

"I'm certain I can do it," he answers back quickly, bobbing his head up and down. "I was aware of your wife's wishes when we decided to proceed with radiotherapy. I've spent the last few hours working out the correct angles to set my lasers at based on her anatomy in recent scans. They will be triple checked tomorrow during her preparation appointment. No radiation will hit any tissue enough to damage it apart from the cervical tumours."

"Then why does the research say it can't be done?" Elijah says back gruffly, hoping the doctor is right but finding it hard to know if he is.

"Where did you read up on it?" The doctor trembles again, shrinking against the wall wishing he could disappear or camouflage himself into it.

"It's for anyone to read online," Elijah snaps back, a little offended by the doctor's insinuation.

"What you're claiming went out of date five years ago," he splutters out, trying to give us his expert opinion under immense stress. "The new beams we use are far more accurate and don't damage any surrounding tissue like I explained."

Klaus spins on his heel and stomps away, staring at the other end of the room with his hands on his hips.

"Can- can I read the research paper you are referring to?" The doctor asks Elijah ever so gently as to not kick up the dust anymore.

Elijah exhales deeply out of his nose and pulls out his phone, taps a few times and hands it over to the doctor almost triumphantly to prove himself correct. I know how much he wishes he weren't though, I can see the pain in his eyes and I know that the doctor's response right now will determine whether he lives or dies.

I hope this doctor survives my family.

He takes the phone from my husband, shock passing over his face. Then the corners of his mouth twitch, holding back a laugh as he starts to read out.

"Nancythefancy359 says: don't EVER have radiotherapy for cervical cancer. You will never have babies and those rotten doctors lied to me and my husband... I AM LIVING PROOF."

My eyes involuntarily dart over to Elijah who is nodding at what is clearly an online forum. Even I'm more up to date with technology and I've just come out of a century long nap. Is he serious right now?

"Here's another," the doctor calls out again. "Written by naturalnurturing202: the same happened to me. They told me about it and I ignored them. Why didn't they tell me again?"

This one, Elijah realises is stupid and snatches his phone back. Klaus, Bekah and I stare at him, unable to fathom his stupidity. He is clearly not well versed in media literacy. What a gullible idiot.

Kol approaches his brother before smacking the back of his head hard.

"You're a fucking git," he attempts to smack him again but Elijah dodges his sweeping arm.

"I was being cautious, I am concerned for Ophelia's health," he says stubbornly, a little embarrassed that we're all laughing at him. He still doesn't understand why.

Beks takes his phone and takes one look at the main website he's done his 'research' on.

Turns out, he was on Reddit.
