*1 moon later*
Blood, that's was all Foxkit could smell. Chaos was all around her as Sunheart was hurriedly rushing them to the back of the nursery. Badgerkit and Elmkit were right by her side as Nightkit and his kin was on the other side. Then a thick and toxicating scent hit her nose as she reeled back slightly in surprise. It speed fowl.
"Fox," Nightkit whispered into her ear seeing her recoil. "The scent is a Fox. Foxes are raiding Fire Clan."
Foxkit was hit with sudden emotions. Anger, fear, and determination. How dare these foxes think that they can just waltz in and try to kill her clan mates!
Foxkit took a step forwards but got harshly nosed back by Mallowfur, Nightkit, Shadekit, and Tornadokit's mother. Foxkit held in a yelp but just glared at her.
Foxkit saw Tornadokit sneer. "Trying to be the warrior are we now?"
Foxkit shot him a glare. "This isn't funny! This is serious! Our clan mates could be dying out there!" She spat back angrily. And just then a cat screeched in pain. It sounded like Tornadokit's father, Thornclaw. Foxkit saw him flinch.
Nightkit nuzzled her gently, trying to comfort her but she could tell that he was tense as well.
"We should be out there," he said quietly, trying to get a better look at the battle.
Foxkit nodded, fairly upset.
But then a mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. "Then why don't we? I'll sneak out and ill get you the heads up if the coast is clear k?" He asked. "But you dont have to if you don't want to," he meowed quickly.
Foxkit smiled. "I'm ready."
He returned with a small smile and then started to creep towards the entrance of the nersury. The made it past and slipped away without the two queens noticing.
After that, Foxkit creeped forwards a few moments after him. She peeked out and saw Nightkit looking at her behind a big bush, waving his tail as the signal. Foxkit was just slipping away when she saw a young Fox creeping up behind Nightkit. And with the thick stench of blood in the air that made her want to gag every five seconds and the painful screeching if cats, he had no idea that the fox was there.
"Nightkit watch out!" Foxkit gasped as the Fox lunged forwards but, Nightkit was to slow. It picked it up by the scruff and shook him violently while bitting him hard at the same time. Nightkit let out an ear splitting screech that made Foxkit's heart break at the sound. She raced forwards and rammed into the fox's shoulder, releasing Nightkit. He rolled away from the fox and let out a moan. At least he didn't look too bad.
Foxkit reeled up on her hind legs and slashed the fox's nose with her claws unshelthed. Even though her claws were not very long, it still made the fox's nose bleed. It squealed but that only seemed to make it annoyed, then angry for not having a nice and easy meal. It bared it teeth and snarrled, growing closer to her. Foxkit hissed, baring her tiny teeth as well but, it seemed to only amuse it slightly. She kept on taking a few steps back as it continued to take more steps forwards. She was soon backed up against a big and thick tree trunk and the fox blocked any other exits. Foxkit felt a whimper rise in her throat but refused to let it out. She tried to slash at the fox's nose again but it just easily lifted its head, out of range. And when it was only a few inches away, a blur of black fur was all over the fox, twisting and turning here and there, clawing and slashing at it. It was Nightkit! He was clawing viciously at the fox's flank. And since he was about two moons older than Foxkit, his claws were more sharper and longer. The wounds drew blood much faster than Foxkit's wounds for the Fox did. The fox jumped back. Nightkit darted over to me and stepped in front of Foxkit. She hissed.
