You sleep in the following day, and the house is empty when you go downstairs and eat some food. Christmas is only a few days away, and you're dreading Christmas Eve.

You're surprised when the single cousin who doesn't detest you sends you a snap.

It's your mom. Eating face. Eating her cousins face.

You save it in the chat, and to camera roll, then call them. At this point, your heart is racing.

"What the fuck?" You say when they pick up.

"I had to tell you!!"

"You have to explain."

"They just got super drunk and kissed."

"She's married!"

"And they're cousins! That's worse."

Period.

"Did they do anything else?"

"I can't say for sure."

"What the fuck am I supposed to do? I don't want to tell Han!"

"Ask your brother." She says.

"Stepbrother. Bye."

You quite literally cannot think. Your brain is numb. Your mother. Kissed her cousin.

You call Ben.

"What?" He answers sounding unamused.

"What? That's how you answer the phone?"

You hear voices in the background, "I'm with someone."

"Who?" You ask growing awfully suspicious.

"No one special. Why'd you call?"

"It's actually nothing," you say, "I have to go. Bye."

You try to take a deep breath to calm yourself, like Luke taught you.

Then, you think, and realize involving Ben would make things worse.

So, you call your mom.

"Everything okay, honey?" She answers.

"Your flight was cancelled. You're not coming home for Christmas."

"Sweetheart, what are you talking about?"

"You know what you did."

"I didn't do anything!" She exclaims.

"You kissed your cousin! What the hell is wrong with you?"

"You don't know what you're talking about!"

"I'll show Han the video."

"Fine." She mutters, and you hang up.

You've patched things up momentarily. But now your saddled with the weight of her infidelity.
