Out of the Water

SAIDA AU: Sirens and mermaids don't get along.

When a mermaid slips away from an invasion to blend in with humans, a siren trails behind, hoping to catch the escapee.

Without any knowledge, the siren sticks with the mermaid, who seems to know about everything outside the ocean.

(Both can transform into human)

Pirates aboard on the their ship, named Fallen Hook, just started sailing towards the Ocean of Thalassa, the body of water wherein the infamous mythological creatures, mermaids and sirens, are said to be sheltered within its deepest depths.

"Keep yer ears covered, Mateys! We do not want any sirens nor mermaids to come lure us into their trap!" The captain of this ship instructed his crewmates, standing still at the forecastle deck while looking out for any signs of the creatures using his spyglass.

A splashing sound alerted one of the crews steering the wheel, quickly informing the captain about it.

"Captain! I think I've heard one from nearby!"

This immediately captured the captain's attention, thoroughly looking around for a sign of either a mermaid or siren's appearance.

And just as his crew had said, there's one close to their ship. Only its tail was seen by the captain's uncovered eye, but it was enough for him to confirm that there's at least one creature beneath the ocean.

"Avast ye!" Commanded by the captain, making his mates ready themselves to watch out for any signs of the mythical creatures at the ocean.

Meanwhile, as the pirates alert themselves for a sign of a mermaid and a siren, the mermaid that just swam at surface earlier is now back at their kingdom, informing the rest of her fellow mermaids about the pirates' invasion.

"We need to save our kingdom! A group of pirates are on their way to invade our home and take us away!"

A merman disagreed at her words, "Are you insane?! We shall save ourselves first before anything else!"

"The kingdom means a lot to us! Let's not abandon it as if it was a piece of junk!"

"Oh, Dear Neptune! Why couldn't they take away the sirens instead of us?!"

From afar, a young mermaid, named Dahyun, was listening to the commotion happening at the kingdom. She wanted to intervene, but the lack of confidence made her back away instead.

"Look out!" A mermaid exclaimed, pointing above where a falling object can be seen getting closer to them within a speed of light.

"It's a cannonball! Swim for your lives!"

The mermaids and mermen successfully avoided the cannonball heading towards their direction. However, the kingdom wasn't safe of its impact.

"The kingdom!"

"Quickly! Let's escape this place!"

"No! Those pirates shall pay for their disrespect towards us!"

"You've got to be kidding-"

But the mermaid wasn't. She and everyone else had swam up to the ocean's surface to see the pirates and plot their revenge.

Left with no other choice, the merman followed his fellow creatures half-heartedly.

Little does everyone know, the mermaid hiding from afar chose not to follow her fellow mermaids, swimming at the opposite direction to escape the hunt.
