~Ava~

"Come on Bea! It's nearly closing time and there's no one here…just one, pleeeeeaaase?" Ava put on her poutiest pout, knowing her girlfriend would struggle to resist.

Without looking up from where she was counting cash at the register, the taller woman nodded, "Okay Ava. If you do the clean down, I'll dance with you for one song before we go home." Ava could hear the amusement in the sister warrior's voice though her face stayed focused while she counted.

Ava beamed, "Yay!" The younger woman leaned across the till to kiss the tip of her girlfriend’s nose before skipping back behind the bar to start cleaning.

It was just after midnight; Bea had allowed Hans to go home early due to the lack of clientele. La Vasseur was always dead on a Thursday which is why the sister warrior often chose it as stock check night. Ava normally hated when the bar was quiet, it was insanely boring, but having her girlfriend working the late shift with her had definitely helped to keep her entertained.

Humming while she cleaned, the Halo bearer busied herself wiping down the shelves of the beer fridge behind the bar, the sooner she finished the sooner she could claim her reward.
Ava loved dancing, ever since she had regained use of her limbs, the younger woman took every opportunity to dance. Reveling in the feel of the rhythm pulsing through her body, there were few things that could top it. The first time she had danced with Bea she had discovered one of those few things.

The sister warrior rarely allowed herself to let loose and be free, so to see her dance and lose herself in the music, well…it had been a mind-blowing experience for Ava. Since that first time they had danced together the younger woman had tried and tried to convince her girlfriend to join her on the dance floor again, sometimes it worked, but more often than not it didn't. Ava knew that Bea still had plenty of insecurity stemming from her childhood, if only the taller woman could see herself as Ava saw her.

One day I'll convince her.

“You done with that yet?” A voice queried from above her.

Ava grinned, closing the fridge and leaping to her feet to see Bea sitting on the bar top facing away from her.

“Yes, but you're dirtying up my nice clean counter.” The Halo bearer teased, wandering around the bar until she was standing in front of her girlfriend, Bea kept her eyes trained on the stock checklist in her hands.

The sister warrior scoffed, “Me? Dirty? I’m insulted.” She looked up at Ava through her eyelashes, the younger woman’s breath stuttered.

She’s so beautiful.

Without even realizing, Ava’s feet carried her forward. She eased the checklist out of her girlfriend’s hands. Bea allowed it, her eyes locked on Ava’s, pupils expanding with lust. The Halo bearer took another step, so she was bracketed between the sister warrior's thighs. They were both absolutely still, Ava couldn't tell for how long, staring at each other, entranced. Bea was the first to break the spell, with a slow but hungry glance at the Halo bearer’s lips.
Ava leaned closer, drawn in like a magnet and tilted her head upwards, she didn't connect them though, she waited for the sister warrior to make the first move.

"I miss you, Ava."

Her stomach dropped, an uncomfortable knot forming. Ava didn't understand why, but she suddenly felt like something was wrong.

"I'm right here…" She whispered, fearfully.

Beatrice raised a worried eyebrow and brought a hand up to stroke along Ava’s cheek, tracing the delicate features of her face before letting her fingers fall to the younger woman's jaw encouraging her up into the barest of kisses.

Ava sighed, warmth blossoming in her chest, the loving caress enough to ease her disquiet.

"I know you are…" Bea breathed against her mouth when she pulled back slightly.

"This isn't real, Ava!"

The Halo bearer flinched, terror seeping through her body. She shook her head, trying to shake off the alarming feeling. Regaining control, she buried it deep, refocusing on the woman in front of her.

Ava hummed, pressing in to capture her girlfriend's lips once again. This kiss was far more heated. The sister warrior raised her hands and fisted them in Ava’s shirt pulling her closer still. The Halo bearer moaned softly, her fingers gripping Bea's thighs. Tendrils of electrifying sensation thrummed through Ava's veins, she wanted more…

The taller woman dragged herself away from the kiss, panting. Ava immediately latched onto the sensitive spot just below her girlfriend’s ear, sucking a bruise into the delicate skin.

Bea shivered, "I thought you wanted to dance?" She huffed, her swollen lips turning up at corners in a grin.

Ava whined, breathing ragged as she moved back to see the sister warrior’s face, "I want to do both." She pouted.

Bea laughed before leaning down to peck the Halo bearer’s jutting bottom lip, "I don't think Hans would exactly appreciate us having sex on the bar."

"You're the boss though…" Ava grinned mischievously, "You can do whatever you want." She licked a stripe up the side of her girlfriend’s neck.

The sister warrior shuddered, giving the younger woman a desire filled look that lit a fire in her belly. Ava forced herself to wait for the verdict.

"You are such a bad influence, you know that?" Bea shook her head fondly, gently pushing Ava backwards so she could slide off the bar.
"Come on, I owe you a dance and then later, at home , we can maybe do the other stuff."

The Halo bearer beamed, grabbing her the other woman's hand to lead her into the middle of the dance floor, stopping to turn the music up on the way.
