Ch. 10

When we landed I had time to open my eyes for just a brief second, before Dereck took off again and I closed my eyes. After running about 20 miles south, we came to a small town, and since I have never been out of Cloverdale I had no idea where we were at. Kayden and Dereck both stopped, and Dereck sat me back on the ground. It took me a minuet to be able to stand up on my own, but Dereck grabbed my arm to help steady me so that helped as well. When i was finally able to stand Dereck moved his hand down to my hand and intertwined our fingers together. I looked over and gave him a small smile, and he gave me one back.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"We are in a little town called Paragon." Kayden replied

"Come on, we may as well eat while we are stopped." Dereck said.

After listening to Kayden and Dereck argue for the past 10 minuets over where to eat, Kayden looked over at me and said,

"Peyton, how about you choose?"

Kayden wanted Steak-N-Shake, and Dereck wanted Tomato Pie Pizza Joint.

"Okay, well I want Tomato Pie" I said.

Dereck fist pumped in the air, while Kayden just looked upset.

"You know Peyton, you really shouldn't upset a vampire, especially one as old as me." Kayden told me.

"I bet Dereck wouldn't even let you get near me, if you looked the least bit mad." I said, and looked at Dereck for support.

"Sorry bro, I'm taking P's side. " Dereck said looking at Kayden.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Kayden said.

I intertwined my finger through his once again, because when I stepped away from their arguing I left go of his hand. We all started walking towards Tomato Pie. When we entered, we stood by the 'Please Wait To Be Seated' sign. A blonde headed girl walked up to us, and to say she wasn't pretty would be an understatement. She had long blonde hair that went down to her waist and was curled on the tips, and bright green eyes.

"Follow me handsome," she said looking at Dereck, and just like that I no longer liked her, because when she said that while looking at Dereck something a lot like jealousy stirred inside me. I don't even know why, because me and Dereck were not even together. I reluctantly followed behind letting go of Dereck's hand. He looked back at me, his eyes asking if something was wrong. I gave him a small smile and he turned back around to follow the blonde.

We were seated in the back corner against the window. She left us to go get us silverware and her notepad to take our orders. When she came back we had decided what we were getting.

"What can I get to drink for you two handsome guys like yourself?" she asked.

"Me and my Girlfriend would like Pepsi." Dereck said.

When he said that she looked shocked that he had called me his girlfriend, I mean I know I wasn't pretty, but I didn't think I was that ugly. She rolled her eyes and turned to Kayden,.

"What about you handsome?"

Not even glancing up from his phone, he said, " Ill have a Lemonade."

With that she said she would be back with our drinks and left.

"Can you say desperate?" Kayden said while laughing.

"I know. She should know better than to hit on a taken man." Dereck said while laughing to.

"And her thoughts about Peyton," Kayden said.

Dereck shot a look at Kayden that was much like "dude, nice going."

"What were they?" I asked feeling very self-couscous.

"Don't worry about it P, they don't matter" Dereck said.

I let it go, but only because she was back with our drinks. This time Kayden ordered the large cheese pizza for all of us, and this time she didn't try to hit on Dereck nor Kayden. When she came back with the pizza, we all started to eat. Dereck and Kayden both only had one piece, while Dereck made me eat three. He then got a take-out box and we left. We went back to the woods where my bag was laying. Kayden said he was going to see if there was any close ,motels we could stay at. Me and Dereck sat in silence for about an hour before Kayden came back.

"Well, guys there is a Motel about 6 miles from here, but there might be a problem..." Kayden said.

"Whats the problem?" Dereck asked

"You will see when we get there, now come on."

Dereck lifted me up put my bad on his shoulder and we followed Kayden to the motel.
