“Ready na ang lahat. Ikaw? Ready ka na ba?” Jay asked the moment he entered the storage area in their shop where I was nervously waiting. 

I smiled nervously. My heart beats so fast as if I'm in the race. I also can't deny the fact that I am scared right now. 

“Do I look good? Do I put this right?” I held the ribbon below my chin. I am wearing the formal waiter outfit to serve my baby today— like what I've planned for a few weeks. “Do I look nervous, bad or what?”

Umiling si Jay habang nakangisi. Lumapit siya sakin and he pat my shoulder. 

“Relax ka lang, pre. You can do this. You prepared this for a long time.”

I nod my head. He's right. We've been preparing for this day for a few weeks. Hindi ko dapat sirain ito. I'm just nervous and happy. 

It is almost eight in the evening. We're here in the storage area of the shop where they are working. Madilim ang buong shop just to surprise Izo. I hope he'll like what I prepared for him. 

Today is the day to formally ask Izo to be my boyfriend. Though I am happy with what we have, I still want a clear status with him. I want to hear from his mouth what he truly feels toward me. I'm satisfied with his actions but still I want him to confess to me. 

I want to hear from him those three magical words. 

I know I did horrible things in the past. I regret it and will never do it again. I love him more than myself. 

I love him today and will love him forever— Just only him. 

Cheesy, yeah, but that's what I feel. That's what Izo made me feel. 

Pareho kaming napatingin sa cellphone niya nang tumunog iyon. He checked his phone before looking at me. “Nandiyan na sila.”

I calm and restrain myself. I must not feel anything but happiness. 

“Ikaw na bahala. Panigurado na magugustuhan 'to ni Izo.” He pat my shoulder once again. “Congratulations agad.”

“Thanks, man.”

“Salubungin ko na sila. Hintayin mo hudyat namin.” 

I nod my head once again. Muli nya akong tinapik sa balikat bago lumabas ng storage area. 

I sigh the moment he closes the door. I can't help but feel anxious and nervous. No matter how ready I am, I still can't restrain myself from feeling nervous. Everything is all set. It's up to me now if I'll make it or not. 

I'll make sure I will make it. There's no turning back. I'll do it today or never.

I don't know exactly what happened next. I just found myself walking towards Izo who's uttering words while his eyes are blindfolded. The two men, Jay and Jayson, beside him were convincing him that he'll like what he was about to witness but Izo was still trying to remove the blindfold.

Mixed emotions were growing inside me. I am Nervous. I am happy. I am scared. 

“Hindi ako natutuwa sa kalokohan niyo, kuya, Jayson. Bakit kailangan pa nito?” He was referring to the blindfolded. “Madilim na nga 'yung buong shop tapos nilagyan niyo pa ko nito. Gusto niyo ba kong bulagin?”

“Kumalma ka, pre. Magpapasalamat ka samin pagkatapos nito. Sure ako,” sabi ni Jayson.

“Oo nga, 'Zo,” anas ni Kuya Jay.
