By my mother's lover. Until now, I still can't believe and I still refuse to accept that my mother cheated on my father.
My father choses her over his true love. How on earth can I forgive Mom for this?. For hurting dad and having an affair with other man?
Hindi ko maiwasang hindi isipin na mas lalo lang pinatunayan nito na tama nga ang Mommy ni Leandro tungkol sa Mommy ko. Masakit na malaman 'yung katotohanan. Wala ni isa sa pamilya namin ang naging masaya sa mahabang panahon dahil sa maling pag-iibigan at maling desisyon ng mga magulang namin noon.
I'm still holding the picture of my mom with his lover na may nakasulat sa likod na. "She left me so I decided to end them and you are next." Na sa pakirawi ko ay galing sa lalaking yo'n. This picture along with my mom's diary just confirmed all my doubts.
Ever since my parents died I lost everything and I started to receive threats on my safety. I thought it was just Amelia but no. That time, I knew that she won't go that far like what had happened the other week. I read the diary of my mom for the third time to confirm everything. And it really hurts me na.. totoo nga and she even planned to get a divorce just to be with her lover?!
Nagulat ako sa yakap ni Leandro mula sa likuran ko. "You're still awake?!" He whispered while still hugging me at the back. Agad kong nilapag 'yung picture at diary sa side table ko para hindi makita ni Leandro.
"I can't sleep." I turned to him at niyakap ko siya pabalik.
Bumitaw ako sa pagkakayakap sakaniya nung maalala ko si Amelia. "By the way, let's visit Amelia." I told Leandro kaya tumaas yung kilay niya sa sinabi ko.
"Should we?" Tanong pa niya.
"Is it okay for you to see her?" Paniniguro pa niya.
"Admit it or not. We somehow did something that hurt her." Saad ko pa sakaniya. Kita ko sa mukha niya ang disappointment.
"It's my fault. I should've believe her back then."
"Just like I should've fought for you." Saad nito sabay tingin sa mga mata ko.
"But even if I believed her back then. it won't change the fact the she did cheated on me multiple times and it really did hurt me, Ashanti." Confession pa niya.
"And I no longer love her, I can't see a life with her." Saad pa niya.
"Did you already filled a case against your friend who assaulted her?" Tanong ko sakaniya.
"About that? Yes, because that's the least tlthing that I can do for her. Gusto kong pagbayaran nung g*go na yo'n yung ginawa niya kay Amelia." Bakas sa boses niya ang inis at galit.
"Pero huli na, he flied the country even before the warrant has been released. But I will do everything I can to help Amelia not just in that case but I also decided to fund her therapy." Ramdam ko yung galit at sincerity sa boses niya.
"I loved her once. She did bad things and became evil but she wasn't born like that. Evil are created, it happened because experienced abuse and never felt loved. Isa pa, I know that I really did something that hurt her and did mistakes that ruined our relationship. So, I am not blaming everything to her. She deserves better too." Ramdam ko 'yung sincerity at concern niya.
"I understand, Mahal. Don't worry, I am just here to support you, to support whatever your decision will be." I held his hands to assure him and gave him a warm smile.
Matutulog na sana si Leandro pero pinigilan ko siya. Bigla ko kasing naisip 'yung parents ni Amelia. "By the way, Mahal. I know Amelia came from a wealthy family.. then where are his parents?" I curiously asked Leandro making him think a bit.
Napakunot siya ng noo sa sinabi ko. "You know family from upper class don't have much time for their children. They often show no affection to them just like what happened to me and William, your parents too."
"Amelia's parents are separated and they are not in good terms ilang taon na. She's living with her mom while his dad moved out to his new apartment in manila." Panimulang kuwento pa niya habang ako tahimik lang na nakikinig.
"She's not close to her mom but she is close to her dad... but ever since the separation she barely sees him and she blamed her mom for that." Komento pa niya.
I just want to understand her. "What a tragic life." Komento ko pa
Napalingon ako ulit sakaniya. "And why did they separate?" Usisang tanong ko pa sakaniya. Hindi ko maiwasang hindi ma-curious sa family background ni Amelia at kung bakit gaanong klaseng personality ang meron siya.
"According to their closest friends. It was because of a third party, though it was never confirm, nakuwento din yo'n ng mommy ni Amelia kay mommy but Amelia's mom never got the chance to confirm, isa pa, dini-deny din naman kasi ng daddy niya." Saad pa niya.
Natahimik ako sa sinabi niya. "Third party? Same reason why I lost my parents." I loudly whispered. Napatingin sa'kin si Leandro sa sinabi ko.
"What do you mean?" Tanong niya sa'kin.
Natahimik ako, natulala ako sa tanong ni Leandro, hindi ko alam kung anong magiging reaksyon niya sa mga sasabihin ko.
"My mom had an affair with other man and that man killed my parents!" Manginig-nginig 'yung boses ko habang nangingilid yung mga luha sa mga mata ko habang sinasabi ko ang mga bagay na yo'n.
"What?" Gulat na ekspresyon niya at saka siya napahinto at napatitig na lang sa'kin na para bang hinihintay niya ang mga sunod kong sasabihin.
"You heard it right, Leandro. Miski ako hindi ako makapaniwala nung una kong nalaman yo'n at ang masakit pa, ni hindi ko man lang na kompronta o natanong ang mga magulang ko lalo na si mommy tungkol sa bagay na yo'n. Sa lalaking yo'n ko pa talaga nalaman."
"Gaya ng sabi ko sainyo nung nakaraan, nung magkahiwalay tayo. Nanganib ang buhay ko no'n. Noong una hindi ko pa alam kung sino amg gumagawa no'n at gusto kong saktan pero napagtanto ko na lahat lalo na nung makita ang litratong ito at mabasa ko ang nakasulat." Inabot ko sa kaniya ang litratong kanina ko pa hawak hawak na may babala sa likuran at isang diary na pagmamay-ari ni Mommy.
Bakas sa mukha ni Leandro 'yung gulat nung makita niya 'yung litrato. "Okay ka lang?"Nagaalalang tanong ko sakaniya. Hindi siya sumagot at binaliktad niya 'yung litrato para mabasa 'yung nakasulat sa likuran no'n.
"This can't be." I heard him whispered.
"Are you sure about this?" Nagpa-panic niya pang tanong sa'kin then he grabbed his phone to check on something.
"This is Amelia's father, Ashanti." Wika nito habang may sinusubukan siyang tawagan sa cellphone niya.
What? Tatay ni Amelia 'yung kabit ni Mommy? Siya rin 'yung taong nagtataka sa buhay ko?
