Chapter Eighteen

Ashanti and I are heading back home right now and she's still quiet. Maybe, she's still shocked on what she discovered.

"Mahal, are you okay?" Tanong ko sakaniya. My right hand was holding hers while I use my left hand to drive. Ramdam ko 'yung galit at inis na nararamdaman ni Ashanti, I can feel it the way she hold my hand, she's holding it tightly.

"Leandro, hindi ko alam ang gagawin, hindi ko alam kung paano tatanggapin lahat." She whispered. I can feel that she felt so weak right now.

Hanggang sa makarating kami sa bahay ay tulala pa din siya. "Kuya, it's so early where did you guys go?" Salubong samin ni William na galing sa dining area. Sinilip ko ang dining area and I saw Ann and Arianna there.

"Mommy, Daddy." Ari said then she ran towards us. I hugged her and gave her a smile. Ashanti did the same but she has no enough energy para sabayan ang anak namin kaya kinuha ko muna si Arianna at pinabalik si Arianna sa dining area. I instructed Ann para ibalik si Arianna sa pagkain niya while William followed us upstairs.

"What really happened, kuya." Pangungulit na tanong ni William sa'kin after kong ihatid si Ashanti para makapagpahinga siya.

"It's a long story, Will." I said which makes him even more curious.

"Tito Luke is the biological father of Ashanti. Tita Mirriam cheated on his husband." I shortly explained to William. Bakas sa mukha nito ang gulat. He knew Tito Luke din kasi kahit paano.

"What a mess." I heard him whispered.

"Fact, that's a total mess. Naaawa ako kay Ashanti she felt distraught and wreck right now.

"Daddy.." I heard Arianna screamed at me while heading upstairs, bitbit siya ni Ann paakyat. Binuhat ko siya at ginulo gulo ko ang buhok niya.

I was playing with Arianna when my phone rang. It was Mom calling.

"Anak, how's Ashanti?" Tanong ni Mom sa kabilang linya.

I took a deep sigh. "She's fine, Mom." I replied.

"Leandro." I was still talking to my Mom when I heard Ashanti called me. Dali dali naman lumapit si Arianna nung makita niya.

Binaba ko 'yung tawag at lumapit sakaniya. "Do you need anything, okay ka na ba?" Tanong ko sakaniya.

Tumungo lang siya. "Let's go see Amelia, we should always go to the police station." suhestiyon pa niya.

"Ashanti.." I called her. Pagpapaliwanag pa sana ako para kombinsihin siya at pigilan pero tinignan niya ako tapos ay bumaba na siya kasama si Arianna.

Hindi sa ayokong magsampa siya ng kaso pero nag-aalala ako para sa kaniya. She's so messed up right now.

"Ashanti, are you sure about this?" Paniniguro ko sakaniya.

"Ashanti, ipapaalala ko lang sa'yo na hindi sapat 'yung mga hawak nating ebidensya para madiin ang daddy ni Amelia."

"Okay then let's go to Amelia." Walang emosyon niyang wika.

Nung makarating kami kung nasaan si Amelia.. nauna si Ashanti na pumasok sa loob. Napahinto ako nung napahinto siya.

"Ashanti, what's the~" I was about to asked her why she stopped when I see what shs saw.

It was Amelia talking to her... Dad.

"Ashanti." I whispered.

Iyong kaninang walang ekspresyong mukha ni Ashanti ay napalitan ng galit. I can clearly see that she's mad and just holding herself together.

Paalis na si Tito Luke nung dali daling sumulpot si Ashanti sa harapan nila kaya wala akong nagawa kundi ang sundan na lang siya.

Bakas sa mukha ni Amelia at Tito Luke na parehong gulat nung makita si Ashanti do'n.

"What are you doing here?" Rinig kong tanong ni Amelia.

"Who is she?" Inosenteng tanong ng daddy ni Amelia as if she's doesn't know who Ashanti was.

"You didn't know me?" Sarkastikong tanong ni Ashanti sa daddy ni Amelia.

"Well, anak. I guess you have a visitor." Naka-ngising sabi niya bago siya tuluyang umalis. This family is so weird.

"What brings you here, Ashanti?!" Singhal na tanong ni Amelia pagkaalis ng tatay niya.

"You seem so close to your dad, maybe you knew a lot of his secrets." Ashanti sarcastically whispered.

Humalakhak si Amelia. "If you are here to ask for an apology or even gather information. Umalis na kayo. Dahil wala kang mapapala." Mariing wika ni Amelia.

"But I knew something that dad and maybe you..... you didn't know." Giit niya pa as if she's making Ashanti looks so naïve and stupid.

"The reason why I hate you even more." Pagbibigay diin pa niya.

"So, I guess you know." Ashanti whispered.

"Amelia.. if you are hating me because you feel like I use to get what should be yours."

"Then you are mistaken. I don't have any intention to compete with you or to get anyone from you. You are the one who's making yourself miserable. You partly contributed on what is happening right now. 'Yung inggit, galit at pagkasakim mo. That's the reason why everyone wants to leave you. Selfish ka." Mariing wika ni Ashanti.

Tama si Ashanti, I guess Amelia feels like Ashanti is getting the people who used to love Amelia away from her but no, 'yung inggit at galit niya kay Ashanti ang dahilan no'n. I can see no regrets in Amelia's eyes. Only anger and madness.

Nag-walk out si Ashanti at naiwan kami ni Amelia. She's looking at me right now. I can see in her eyes that she's mad. "Leandro." She whispered.

"Amelia, enough. I know that you know who is Ashanti is in your life. Just learn to move on for your own happiness and peace of mind." Wika ko sakaniya bago ko tuluyang umalis.

Nung makarating ako sa kotse ay nakita ko si Ashanti na humahagolgol sa loob. Hindi ako agad nagsalita at niyakap ko lang siya. "I guess she already knew." Basag ko sa katahimikan namin.

"That's why she hates me more." Ashanti said while still sobbing.

"Kung determinado ka pa din na tulungan siya. Ayos lang yo'n, Leandro but I just can't accept the fact that my sister is like that and my real father was a criminal. I've been dreaming to have a sister when I was a little. Sana bahalang araw magkaayos kami at matutunan niya akong tanggapin, gano'n din ako. Sana matanggap ko siya. Pero 'yung tatay ko? I can't. Hindi ko siya mapapatawad." Paglalabas ni Ashanti ng sa loobin. I just hug her because I know that is what she needs right now.

I am also broke to see Ashanti like this pero all I can do right now is to give her my full support and a crying shoulder. I just wanna be here for her para hindi niya maramdaman na mag isa lang siya.
