Falling for a Surfer

Prom

     Months went by, it was already April. It seemed like the months were going by slowly because Sarah still hasn't seen Jon since summer. It was the day of prom.
Sarah's phone rang. She grabbed her phone to answer the call.
She said," Hello."
Kiley and Lilly both said," Hey Sarah you ready for tonight."
She said," Yes I'll meet you girls at the park."
Kiley said," Cool."
Lilly said," Any news from Jon?"
Kiley said," Lilly!!!"
Lilly said," What?"
Sarah said," Uh no nothing. Last we texted he said he might be busy with a Surfing competition."
Kiley said," Sorry Sarah."
Sarah said," I'll be ok."
Lilly said," Yeah my man's coming. At least find a guy to dance with while at prom Sarah."
Sarah said," Yeah I'm gonna go now. See you later girls."
Lilly said," Wait Sarah I didn't mean..."
Sarah hung up the call.
Tears came running down her cheeks. She whipped them away.
She said," I wish you were coming Jon. I don't wanna dance with anybody else."
She went to her vanity to put her makeup on. Once she was done with her makeup she went to the bathroom to brush and style her hair with a curling iron. Then she picked it out with a hair pick. She did a fancy hair braid. She put a silver rhinestone headpiece on her head. She secured it with bobby pins. She sprayed her hair with hairspray. She went into her bedroom. She grabbed her prom dress. It was a light blue long dress with silver sparkles on it. She put her dress on. She walked over to her mirror.
She said," I look like Cinderella and my prince is not even here with me."
She grabbed her silver heels and put them on. She sprayed perfume on her. She grabbed her purse and went to go meet her friends at the park.

At the park, Sarah, Lilly, Kiley, and Mark all took pictures. They went to a fancy restaurant for dinner after. After dinner they went to prom. The hotel for their prom was huge and so beautifully decorated.
Sarah, Kiley, Lilly, and Mark all went on the dance floor and started dancing. The music was very upbeat. They were all having fun laughing and talking. As usual Lilly was always teasing Mark. Lilly grabbed Mark and starting kissing him a lot.
Kiley said," This way Sarah."
Kiley and Sarah were dancing while walking away from them. They went to another area with their other friends and started rocking out to the music again. They were all having a great time. A little while later the DJ stopped for minute and put on a couple song. Sarah looked around.
Kiley said," Sarah."
Sarah said," I need some air."
Kiley said," Sarah wait!!!"
She walked over to Lilly and Mark.
Lilly said," Where's Sarah?"
Kiley said," Outside."
Lilly said," This has gotta not be easy for her."
Kiley said," Yeah."
Lilly said," Just give her some space."
Kiley sat down at a table waiting for the song to be over and for Sarah to come back in.
Sarah was outside looking at the night sky. She held onto her necklace.
She said," I wish you were here with me. I want to tell that I."
A tear came down her cheek.
A voice said," Tell me that you what?"
Sarah turned around.
She said," Oh great my mind is playing tricks."
He said," Sarah it's me I'm here."
She said," Jon?"
He smiled.
She ran over to him. He caught her. They hugged.
He said,"Oh Sarah I missed you so much."
She said," I missed you too. It has not be easy."
He said," I couldn't wait any longer to see you. I missed you to much."
She said," You have no idea how excited and happy you made me right now."
He said," Same. I'm sorry I couldn't be here sooner for winter and..."
She touched his lips with her finger.
She said," Don't say no more all that matters is that we're here now."
He stared deeply into her eyes.
He said," What was it you wanted to tell me?"
She took a deep breath.
He said," Who knows it could be also what I wanted to tell you."
She said," Really?"
He said," Maybe."
She said," Ok Jon I wanted to tell you this for a long time and I wish I would've told you sooner. At least before I left."
She held his hands.
She said," Jon I love you."
He smiled. He pushed her hair back.
He said," I came here to tell you the same thing."
She said," Really."
He said," I love you Sarah."
She played with his hair. She smiled.
She said," Your really here."
He said," I'm not leaving you. I'll be here when you graduate I promise."
They slowly kissed.
She said," I've waited for months for this."
They kissed again. He grabbed her hand and spun her around.
He said," You look beautiful."
She said," Thank you. You look so handsome."
He said," Thanks. Your forgetting something."
She said," What?"
He said," This."
He gave her a box. She opened it.
She said," Oh my gosh they are beautiful."
He grabbed the corsage.
He said," May I."
She said," You may.
She put out her arm. He put the corsage on her wrist. She grabbed the boutonniere.
She said," Will you accept this boutonniere."
He said," I will."
She put the boutonniere on his suit.
The corsage and boutonniere had a light blue flower with a silver sparkle ribbon.
He put out his hand.
He said," Shall we."
She held his hand.
She said," We shall."
They walked onto the dance floor and started dancing together.
Lilly, Kiley, and Mark all looked at them. They smiled. They all went up to say hi and continued dancing having fun. The night was truly magical.
Sarah and Jon danced to a slow song. He spun her around and closely down to the ground. He lifted her back up. They kissed.
Sarah said," I love you."
Jon said," I love you too.
They hugged and kissed again.
