'So, Admiral Pathway thinks that there is some kind of Chrono-Police activity going on in the twentieth century, Amber?' asks Krystle.
'Indeed she does. Not clear why, but they might feel obliged to change Earth's time-line in order to better protect this part of the universe from chrono-instability.'
'Even if that meant our common destruction?'
'I fear so ...'
'Well, we must at least send a warning to our friends in New York as soon as possible ...'

Anna is biting her lip. Paulina has given her numerous lectures on not disclosing facts about 'the future' to anyone they meet in the past, in this case the year 1930. But given that the song Melissa is singing is "I Wanna Be Loved By You", which was made famous by Marilyn Monroe in 1959 CE, she can hardly stop herself from laughing at the incongruous circumstance before her.
But Sehzula is completely entranced for a different reason, as Melissa is as good as her word and leads her up on stage. Although she has never sung jazz before, the Slavic beauty makes a good fist of harmonising with her new friend, even though she is almost completely distracted by the curvaceous singer's numerous gyrations.
And when they reach the part of the song that includes the lyric "I wanna kissed by you, just you, and nobody else but you, I wanna be kissed by you, alone!", the crowd goes crazy as their lips meet in a passionate embrace.

Harnii is slightly puzzled. Her online school has set up a chat group, and yet nobody in it has ever heard of the SISP. She knows that her mother, Brenda, used to be a university physics lecturer and so she is very pleased to tag along on a trip around the Institute's power system organised by Lauren. Harnii's father, Mark Smith, has broken off from his work as a writer to come along as well.
'Well, Harnii, the basic answer to your question ... ' says Lauren '... is that we use geothermal heat drawn from deep within our planet, although in recent times we have supplemented our power system with a biomass energy plant.'
'How does that work?' asks Mark.
'Well, because we have planted a large underground forest to use up carbon dioxide and to produce oxygen, we also have the by-products needed to fuel some of our smaller projects in a very sustainable way.'
'This is all very impressive, Lauren – very impressive! Carbon neutrality ... ' exclaims Brenda. "But what if Zaratorio was to disrupt our power supply?'
