Zaratorio: The Story Continues

'Is there a real difference between human magic and our own biotempador magic, Zaratorio? Will they ever be able to manipulate time in the same way that you can, master?'
'Well, Inga, I used to think it was obvious that we were their superiors, but since I have met the likes of Jessop and Paulina the Buzhan, I have begun to think differently.
And when we deal with others, like Yibo the Chinese shamen, or Sehzula the Slavic priestess, we have to apply some cunning – we cannot expect to simply overpower them with the strength of my necromancy and other magical skills.'

Meanwhile, Yibo the shamen is trying to form a clairvoyant link with the beings from "the flying pearl", as he usually does every few days. He paces up and down the temple courtyard for several minutes, and with each circuit he becomes more and more vexed. For some reason he cannot fully understand, they are not responding to his psychic calls and instead he is only seeing images of something that looks like a whirlpool.
'Perhaps they have left our Middle Kingdom, and made their way to a more barbarous part of the world – or they may even have returned to heaven!'
His acolyte, Wai, Wai, looks puzzled and sprinkles some rose petals around Yibo's feet, as she always does,
'Don't worry master, I'm sure they will return when the time is right.'

The dating app has reappeared. Not only on several computer terminals, but also on Lauren and Jennifer's private phones as well.
Professor Amber is not best pleased.
'This is almost certainly a prank by someone within the organisation. There is simply no way that Circe could be sending suggestive messages on our intranet, or on your phones, because while Anton and I don't read your messages, we do monitor who is contacting you. I am sending out a very stern circular to all SISP employees; we simply don't have the time or the resources to track the prankster down!'
***
'Did you get a message on your phone last night, Jen?'
'Several ...'
'From Circe?'
'Or the prankster. But they seem to have stopped trying to hack the intranet ...'
'My message asked me if I liked pink gin ...
'And mine were very keen to meet me at Olena's Bar in the Podil neighbourhood. Have you heard of it, Lauren?'
'Not until yesterday. I think we are due some leave shortly, aren't we?
So we could check it out without the Professor forbidding us!'
***
'Zaratorio, Zaratorio, this is Circe. I hope that my mind is blending with yours and that you are closing in on the Shamen.
I believe that the redhead and her petite little accomplice could soon be in my power!'
