Just as Colt, Cyrus and Jane were going to try and get off the small island, it suddenly split apart into two pieces, seperating Colt from Cyrus and Jane.
Cyrus pulled out his gun, looking around. "Colt..! Are you okay..?!"
Colt nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine I just... Gotta figure out how to get out of here..."
Jane suddenly called out to him. "BEHIND YOU!"

Colt drew his rifle spear, immediately parrying an attack from Falco's Crypt Blade.
Colt narrowed his eyes. "I should've known you faked it..."
Falco took a step back, resetting into a fighting position. "I'm not going down when I have unfinished business with you..."
Colt, without missing a beat. "Unfinished business? Is that why you were scared to fight Kevin again? Because every time you tried, he beat you."
Falco scoffed. "It... Doesn't matter. Kevin isn't here now."
Colt took a shot at him. "He will be."
Falco leaned to the side. "Not soon enough."

Jane picked up a rock, throwing it at Falco. "Fuck you, Falco. You're one manipulative piece of shit..."
Falco got a malicious grin. "Good that you mention that... You don't think I'd suspect you betraying me? I knew I couldn't use your son forever. But it's amazing what a Mental Veil can do... As Zi'eer so wonderfully demonstrated in the past."
Jane suddenly started holding her head with a yelp of pain.
Colt rushed at Falco, stabbing at him rapidly.
Falco parried them, getting ready to strike back only to be shot in the side before Colt sliced deep into his chest, knocking him back.
Colt approached him. "Don't underestimate me... You always took the easy way. I spent half my childhood in this place."
Falco opened up a shadow behind him, holding his chest. "Fine then... How about her?" He said as he appeared behind Jane, throwing her through the shadow before disappearing along with the shadows.

Colt narrowed his eyes. "Jane?-"
Jane suddenly slashed at him, which Colt just about blocked. "YOU'RE the reason I can't see Seth...!"
Cyrus aimed his gun at the two of them. "What are you talking about?!"
Colt took a step back. "She's in a mental veil... It's.. it's like being mind controlled!"
Jane kept attacking Colt.
Colt kept defending, parrying them but never hitting back until he was hit in the side. He then interrupted the next attack with a slam from the blunt handle of his spear to knock Jane to the ground. "Jane, listen to me! You're being controlled..! You HAVE to break out!"
Cyrus' hand started shaking. "How... How do I help?!"
Colt looked over at him. "Find Falco! If you take out the caster, you take eliminate the mental veil!"

Jane took this chance of Colt being distracted, slicing into his chest.
Colt stumbled back. "Jane please... Think of little Seth..."
Jane approached him. "Don't talk about him!"
Cyrus desperately looked for a way off the small portion of his island.

Colt backed up. "Don't you want to be happy again?! To have a family again?!"
Jane kept pushing towards him. "Shut up about him...! You have no idea what it's like to lose something you love like that!"
Cyrus finally found an out - He fired repeatedly at a coral tree, making it collapse onto the island. "Finally!!" He said as he climbed up onto the Celtor Wastes.
Colt was starting to back into a tiny and thin ledge on the end of the island. "I do! I know it's hard to believe, but I do... I know exactly what you're going through. But I'm trying to help you, Jane! If you don't accept my help, there's nothing I can do." Colt said as he reached the end.
Jane slowly stopped as she started to step onto the ledge as well.
Colt looked into her eyes. "I don't want you to go through this again... I can solve this. But you have to be the one to break out... You need to be 'the hero'!"

Jane stopped for a few moments.
Cyrus looked down at the two of them.
Jane slowly spoke up. "The hero..."
Cyrus went to the edge of the Celtor Wastes, looking down at the tiny island.
Jane glared at Colt. "The hero, that you need... You won't find in me!"
She yelled as she rushed at Colt.
Colt held out his spear, blocking her. As she tried to push him off, Colt responded with a backwards somersault, throwing her over himself.
Colt tried to reach out to catch her.
Jane caught his hand, looking up at him, her look softening. "Huh- W-What.. oh my god... I'm- I'm so sorry..." She said - Falco let go of her mind.
Colt's look brightened. "W-we can still fix this..!" He said as he started to pull her up.
Jane looked at the underside of the cliff, seeing cracks starting to form. "It's too late... You have to let me go!"
Colt kept trying to pull her up. "No way! Not after all that...!"
Jane teared up. "Just... Just promise me you'll take good care of Seth!" She said as she gripped her sword tighter.
Colt looked down at her. "I-I promise, but you've gotta--"
Jane slashed at Colt's hand, forcing him to let her go, just as the ledge gave out, giving Colt barely enough time to back up so he wouldn't fall.

Cyrus looked on in horror. "JANE, NO!!" Without a second thought he dropped down onto the island, aiming his pistol at Colt and firing into his stomach.
Colt backed up, grabbing onto his rifle spear.
Cyrus aimed the gun at him. "You could've saved her!"
Colt held up his spear protectively. "You know I couldn't... She forced me to let her go!"
Cyrus fired at him again, but Colt deflected it.
Cyrus then rushed towards him, but Colt dodged out of the way.
"Haven't enough people died already?!" Colt said as he jumped down onto the smaller island portion Cyrus was previously trapped on.
Cyrus jumped after him. "Thanks to YOU!" He said as he tried to punch at Colt with his pistol. Colt parried the attack, slowly backing onto the Celtor Wastes through the tree Cyrus knocked down earlier.

"We both know that's not true!" Colt said as he jumped up, stabbing his spear into the side of a mountain, trying to climb up. "Cyrus, she could be in the second layer still!"
Cyrus shot him in the side, leading him to fall down. "Bullshit!"
Colt landed with a loud thump, Cyrus quickly kicking away his rifle spear.
Cyrus aimed down at him, but Colt jumped up with an uppercut, leading him to stumble back.
Colt grappled onto Cyrus. "Are you even hearing yourself?!"
Cyrus tried to point the gun at him, but Colt slammed his head into the side of the mountain, blood splurting out of his skull.
Colt then pushed him back, stumbling to his rifle spear as fast as he could.
Cyrus, though a little disoriented, aimed his gun at Colt, firing at him from behind, but Colt was fast enough to turn around and deflect the bullet since he expected it.
Colt hid behind the other side of the thin mountain, so Cyrus carefully approached it.
The moment Cyrus turned around, he expected Colt to be there, waiting to kill him - But Colt merely walked up a slope towards the top.
Cyrus took a shot at him, but missed.
"Listen to reason, Cyrus! Nobody else has to die here... Please... I don't want to see another good person die..." Colt said.
Cyrus ran towards him, rather sluggishly from his wounds. "Then close your eyes... And I'll make it quick...!"
Colt waited for him at the top. "There's more than one way this can end, Cyrus!"
Cyrus tried to whip him in the head with his gun, but Colt parried it, sending it flying off the mountain. "There's only two..." Cyrus said as he grabbed onto the handle of Colt's rifle spear, pushing it to the side as he tackled Colt into the wall behind him. "You, or me! One of us is going!"
Colt punched him, pushing him back, to which Cyrus threw him to the side, Colt pulling Cyrus with him.

The two of them landed at the bottom of what was practically a large hill, both of their weapons lying next to one another mere meters from them.
As Faust, Pakki looked for Castle Light to find Klaris, Seth sat by, waiting as he was the most injured.
The weapons landed next to Seth.

Colt and Cyrus both got up, rushing towards their weapons.
In that moment, Seth had to make a choice. He saw the weapons - Colt's spear was closer. He would be the one to reach it first. But he could change that.
In a split second, Seth made a decision he regretted immediately - He grabbed Cyrus' gun.

Just as Colt grabbed onto his spear, Seth tossed Cyrus his gun, both Colt and Cyrus aiming at one another and firing simultaneously.
