When they were around the age of 10, Faust and Pakki snuck out to Erisia. Faust wanted to find the assassin trying to kill him to face him, while Pakki wanted to become a strong fighter and 'artist'.
As they walked onto the shore, they were greeted with a man with a greatblade on his back wearing white and black clothes. "Hey, you kids seem lost..." He said. "What are your names?"
Faust looked at him, head tilted. "That's a rude question to ask before giving your answer to it..."
"I'm James. I... Run things around here. What about you?" The man relpied.
"We're trying to find an assassin. I'm Faust, and this is Pakki." Faust said before starting to walk forward, past the man.
James walked after him. "Well you sure seem lost- I could bring you to a safe place... For a price. You got any money on you?"
Faust kept walking. "We're not looking for a safe place. We have that at home."
James jumped in front of him, drawing his greatsword. "I'll ask another way then. Follow me, or you and your buddy are both going to lose your heads."Just as Faust reached for his scythe, a voice came from the distance. "Leave them alone, now!"
It came from another kid, around their age.
James narrowed his eyes. "Stay out of this, brat... I've had to deal with you one too many times, y'know!" He yelled back, spinning around and swinging his greatsword into the child, knocking them back.
The kid yelped in pain, falling to the floor.
"Who's that..?" Pakki asked.
James turned back to Pakki and Faust. "That's none of your--"
The kid suddenly jumped up, spinning around in the air and sending an axe kick straight for James, who reacted just in time, bringing his greatsword in the way.
"I'm Seth... Seth Dalus, the soon-to-be strongest!" the kid responded, his leg being encased in a white aura as he kicked into the blade of the greatsword, shattering it.
James stumbled back, glaring at the kid. "What the fuck is wrong with him this time..?!"
Seth landed on the ground, raising his fists to his face. "Didn't your lackeys tell you?! I learned to use the Song to empower my attacks. With this... Nothing's gonna stop me becoming the strongest!"
James stood into a fighting stance. "Whatever-- Stupid fucking kid... But you're still nothing more than a kid!" He swung what remained of his sword, which was mostly just a few pieces of broken steel on a handle, at Seth.
The kid hit the bandit's hand away with his right hand, pulling his left hand back and encasing it in the same way he did with his leg earlier. "Don't underestimate me..!"
James looked at the incoming attack, pulling his arms back to block - But just as the punch connected, it felt like a shockwave inside him - his arms flew to the side, the cracking of bones could be heard.
"You're wide open now!" Seth yelled out as he carried his momentum, spinning around whilst leaning his upper body down, his right leg encased in the Song, as he brought it around and up, kicking James in the chin. "Killer Combo - Connected!"
The bandit was sent flying around 4-5 meters into the air, before crashing back down onto the ground with a loud thud.Seth turned around, standing normally. "Sorry about that. As I said - My name's Seth, and I'm on the path to become the strongest in the world!" He said, smiling before continuing. "This island's been overrun by bandits..."
Faust nodded. "This isn't the first time we're here... I'm Faust, and this is Pakki."
Pakki merely stared out into the distance.
Seth tilted his head. "You frequent this place?--"
"Another one's coming." Pakki said, interrupting Seth.
As Seth turned around, he saw a rapier pointed at his face.
The man spoke up. "Seth Dalus... You're coming with us. The general wants his son back - and he's gonna have MY neck for it if you don't come with me."
Seth slapped the rapier to the side. "The Legion's full of... Shitheads! You murdered those people for no reason!"
"Politics are a valid reason." The man grumbled.
"Bullshit! If you want me to go back, you're gonna have to drag me back and I won't be this weak last time!" Seth responded. "How about it, huh?! The great metal-wielding David Nothli, defeated by an eleven year old!"
"Reinforcements are gonna be here any second now, and you couldn't even--" David yelled back before his eyes raced around wildly. "Oi... Where's the third dipshit gone?! I know there were three of you..."
Suddenly, he would be interrupted by yelling from behind him.
"Damn kid!"
"Get out of the way already!"
"Hey!- That fire--"
An unexpectedly loud bang went off, wind rushing everywhere. As David turned around he was met with the sight of Pakki sheathing his katana, the earth around him scorched from an explosion.David gritted his teeth. "You little pieces of shit..." A giant bluish metallic sword formed next to him as he stabbed at Faust, who blocked the attack with his signature ribcage defense - only for the giant sword to slice in between two ribs, cutting a deep wound into him.
Seth jumped up, spinning around to kick at David, his leg encased in the song.
David looked at the attack for a moment before raising his rapier and stabbing down at Seth's leg, forcing him to kick into the ground and impaling him into it.
As Faust tried to pull his scythe out, a large metal rod formed inside of his wound, pinning him in place.Pakki rushed at David, pulling his katana out and slashing at him with it only for David to interrupt him with a knee to the side, taking the sword and stabbing it towards his corrupted eye. When it was just inches from his face, a blast of light knocked it out of his hands.
Matthew stood flew onto the scene, spear in hand. "I suggest you leave. Right about now."
David stepped back, obviously noticing that if any of the three kids got out of their binds he could not take them on. "You're making a grave mistake. No one fucks with the Hundred Legions." He said as he backed away.Matthew ended up taking the kids back to Etris, including Seth since he clearly did not want to stay with the Legions.
