Chapter 10

Clarissa's POV

Unreachable

"Fully booked na ho ang speedboat natin, ma'am, kaya nagagalit 'yong costumer dahil gusto niya agad-agad gumamit," sumbong sa akin ni Analyn, isa sa mga staffs.

"Tell him to wait first," utos ko at bumaling sa kausap na si Gasper.

"Gusto niya pong ikaw ang kumausap. Galit na galit kasi siya."

Sinapo ko ang noo ko. I shut my eyes while exhaling deeply to soothe my nerves before I stood up. I instructed Gasper to carry out my work for now because I had to deal with something before facing the staff. There are beads of sweat on her forehead, suggesting that she's panicking.

"Nagwawala na ho siya," she reported, shaking in fear still.

Lumabas ako ng opisina at iniwan na muna si Gasper doon. Analyn accompanied me to where the person she is talking about. Mga lasing na grupo ng magbabarkada ang nadatnan ko at ang isa sa kanila ay nagwawala habang may hawak na bote ng vodka. His other friends were stopping him. Nang makita niya ako ay kaagad siyang naglakad patungo sa akin nang pasuray-suray.

"Ikaw ang may-ari ng resort?" His voice had a drunken quality to it.

"Hello, yes, I am the owner of the resort," malumanay kong sinabi. "I apologize, sir, but our speedboats are currently at full capacity. For one thing, it seems you've drunk a lot of alcohol, and for safety reasons, we cannot permit customers to use our speedboats while under the influence. Lalo na ho ngayon na nahihirapan kayo maglakad. Sana po ay maunawa—"

"That's bullshit!" Sigaw niya.

Hinampas niya bigla ang bote ng alak sa lamesa. Some of the girls yelled, looking frightened, while a couple of their male friends attempted to calm down the angry man. Analyn held my arm, alerting me to the possible actions of the angry customer.

"Sir, calm down, po. Let's talk—"

"Shut up! You, shut up!" Dinuro niya sa akin 'yong basag na piraso ng botelya.

I stepped back while maintaining my composure as the onlookers witnessing the scene yelled in fear. Ramdam kong hinila-hila ni Analyn ang top ko para umalis na.

"Ma'am, magtatawag na ho ba ako ng security? Tara na ho," natataranta niyang sabi sa akin.

"Walang kwenta itong resort na 'to! This isn't worth spending money," he spat furiously.

"Sir—"

"Fucking shut up!" He stopped me. "Naririndi ako sa 'yo!"

He walks closer to me while maintaining his grip on the piece of the shattered bottle. The people around start murmuring to call security as the friends of the furious man try to stop him. Si Analyn sa likod ko ay halatang naiiyak na sa takot habang mahigpit ang hawak sa damit ko.

"Ma'am, I'm really sorry. Ganito kasi talaga siya kapag nalalasing. Pasensya na po talaga—"

Natigil sa pagsasalita ang kaibigan ng lasing na lalaki nang biglaang dumating si Gasper. He stood up in front of me, as if shielding me from the enraged man. The strong presence he brought silenced the people around him.

"Hindi ka ba talaga mapapakiusapan?" Kalmado ngunit malalim ang pagkakatanong niya. "I will call the security if you won't stop. Pwede kang kasuhan sa ginagawa mo ngayon."

The guy just laughed in sarcasm, as if what Gasper said was completely nonsense. Pilit siyang pinipigilan ng dalawa niyang kaibigan, pero tinutulak niya lang ito.

"Isa pa 'tong walang kwenta! Lampa naman!" Sigaw niya kay Gasper.

Without warning, he attacked us, and my courage suddenly vanished. The women screamed, and I couldn't move. Sobrang bilis ng mga pangyayari, and before I knew it, Gasper landed a hard punch on the man's jaw before he could harm us. Humandusay ang lalaki sa buhangin. I pulled Gasper away and ordered the other people to leave before he could harm them, too.
