Clarissa's POV

Crush

How did he get that fucking gift? Tinapon ko na 'yon, bakit nasa kanya? Imposible naman na maglakad 'yong frame at pupunta kay Gasper dahil alam niya kung sino ang nagmamay-ari sa kanya. Someone gets it. But who? No one, except Zedi, even knows that I had prepared a gift for him.

Wait. No, Zedi can't betray me. Isa pa sabay kami naglakad pabalik sa bahay nila Gasper at sabay din kaming umuwi. She's not the one who probably gets it in the trash bag. There's no one I could suspect of getting it. Baka nga talaga gumagala 'yong frame at may buhay 'yong painting.

I groaned and messaged Zedi instead. I screenshot Gasper's message and send it to her. She didn't read it for a long time, but it was already delivered. Nagpagulong ako sa kama dahil sigurado akong naglalaro pa 'yon at mamaya pa mag-reply.

"Zed, I need you right now," I pouted. "Sana ma deads 'yong hero mo at nang ma-check mo na ang inbox mo. Amen," I said, closing my eyes while crossing my index and middle fingers as a sign of manifestation.

Ilang minuto ang lumipas ay tumunog ang cellphone ko. I immediately opened my eyes and checked who messaged me, but it was Gasper... Again. I did not open the message para hindi n'ya makita na na-seen ko. I press and hold it for a few seconds to read what he said.

Gasper Yvez:

I feel like I need an explanation.

I picked a pillow and covered it on my face while wiggling my feet. When I'm satisfied, I open my phone once more. Napaupo ako sa kama nang na-seen na ni Zedi ang message ko. I composed a message again, telling her that Gasper asked for an explanation.

Atherelle Zedi:

Clarieth Sancha:

What am I going to do? What should I tell him?😭😭😭

Atherelle Zedi:

Tell him the truth. I told you to just give it to him, tingnan mo nakuha n'ya pa.

Clarieth Sancha:

Give him an explanation first and then ask him how he got it. H'wag ka na mahiya, ngayon ka pa ba mahihiya sa kanya.

Clarieth Sancha:

Girl, baka kasi mas lalong ayawan n'ya ako sa nangyaring 'to?

Atherelle Zedi:

Kaya nga sabihin mo sa kanya ang totoo.

Clarieth Sancha:

Do you think it will work out?

Atherelle Zedi:

Don't overthink. Subukan mo muna. And anyway, tatapusin ko muna ang laro. Malapit naman na matapos. Just update me, and I'll read it after.

Maraming pumapasok sa utak ko na hindi maganda. Isa na ro'n si Anessa at si Yesha—ay, joke!

I opened our conversation and started typing a reply. Bura ako nang bura dahil hindi ako satisfied sa message ko. Nakailan din akong bura bago tuluyang nag-send ng reply.

Clarieth Sancha:

I find it a bit strange to present you with a gift like that. It doesn't align with your preferences or relate to your hobbies in any way. So yeah, I decided to throw it away.
