You wake up with a red feather bopping you on the nose repeatedly.

"Rise and shine, Hakuchō!" Keigo calls from downstairs. "First day!"

You groan, turning over, and trying to hide your face from the feather, only for it to start tickling your neck.
You squeal at this, grabbing it in your fist, and scowling when you hear Keigo chuckling to himself downstairs.
At least he was in a good mood again today, or at least it seemed like he was.

"Come on! You can't be late on your first day!" He calls, the feather in your hand trying to wiggle free.

You grip it tighter for a moment before letting it go, sitting up sluggishly and watching it dart under the small gap under your door.
You stretch your wings out as you stretch your back, almost knocking over one of the mirrors in the room.
Taking a glance at your pillow, you notice that your phone isn't by your side again like before. You really hope that Keigo hasn't decided to confiscate it for the entire day.

Feathers had clearly been kept busy as there was a pre-packed rucksack, and a school uniform all folded up for you on your desk chair.
You hoped that there wasn't a packed lunch in the bag for your sake, having seen Keigo's cooking skills first hand now.
As you lift the jacket up, you note that there have been carefully slit holes in the back for your wings, not too dissimilar to how Keigo's casual clothes looked.

You suppose it's better than having them trapped underneath your clothes, and so you begin to get changed into a uniform for a school you whole-heartedly did not want to go to.
You cringe a little when you pull on the skirt, the length of it not exactly to your liking, but you suppose you can pull it off.
When you eventually make it downstairs, Keigo cheers at you, holding a plate of mostly burned pancakes again.
You deadpan at him, earning a pout in return.

"Aw, come on, I tried!" He groans, trying to pass them to you.

You shake your head, trying to push the plate away from your face every time he insists.

"You gotta eat! You'll be working hard all day." Keigo says, a little more stubbornly.

You shake your head again, pointing at the cereals that he'd bought the other day.
His face and wings fall, and you almost feel a little guilty for not wanting to eat his burned pancakes, but he doesn't question it, sliding the pancakes into the bin and swinging away from you dramatically, hanging his head back.

"Aw man, seeing you eat that stuff is gonna make me want to have some." He complains.

You pout sarcastically in reply, making him chuckle as he sips one of those horrible looking shakes again, his eyes running over you.
You're not used to the attention, and so you squirm a little uncomfortably, trying to slide into one of the bar stools by the kitchen island without flashing anything in this stupid school skirt.

"How're you feelin' kiddo?" Keigo asks, giving you a small smile.

You shake your hand in a way of saying 'so-so' as crimson feathers place a bowl of cereal in front of you.
Keigo hums knowingly, his golden eyes turning thoughtful as he gazes off into the distance for a second while you take the first few bites of cereal. You follow his eyes, but he doesn't seem to be looking at anything in particular so you just look at his face again, taking in the details.

Aside from him staring off into the distance, he seems relaxed, his wings dropped slightly behind him and his hands relatively loose on his shake.
His face seems a little more tan and freckled from being out in the sun for a while yesterday, but he looks a little tired.
Eventually, you break his moment of peace, waving your hand in front of his face to try and get his attention.
