The school day was tedious, just more of you trying to catch up with classmates that were way more advanced than you, and trying to make sure Aizawa didn't feel like the extra training and time he'd put into you wasn't going to waste.
You attempted to consult with your classmates to try and pick up anything that could help. Naturally, Midoriya was useful when offering tips and making suggestions about your quirk, but you actually putting them into use was another thing entirely.
You'd actually tried taking the initiative and asked Tokoyami for a few pointers as well, and he was pretty helpful when it came to relaying how Hawks had improved his stamina in regards to flying, but beyond that, any help he could give you was limited as Dark Shadow was different to most other quirks as it had its whole own personality and needs.

Tsu suggested looking into whatever bird you may be, as you may find that certain traits could be used to your advantage, but you'd been adamant that you weren't a heteromorph. You'd never been classed that in your entire life, and neither of your parents were heteromorphs either.
Your dad had a simple strength quirk, not too uncommon, and your mom had a shapeshifting quirk, which was ultimately useless as she could only shift into birds for some reason.
You couldn't even remember ever seeing your mom use her quirk to know whether she had a 'favourite' bird to shift into. Not that they had licenses to use their quirks legally, anyway.

By the end of the day, you were exhausted from brainstorming and you just wanted to try to catch Shinsou to try and correct the situation between you both.
Nor he or Aizawa were in the usual training spot, and you're a little surprised. Shinsou was usually on top of it with training because he wanted so desperately to get onto the hero course.
You end up sending him a text asking where he is, and in the process you realise that Keigo had sent you a message earlier on in the day.

Wings: gonna be a late one tonight, gotta deliver somethin! left money on the counter if you wanna order take out B)

You grimace at the use of his emoji at the end, and decide to use the opportunity to bully him a little bit.

You: Carrier pigeon.

Shinsou replies, and the words on your screen hurt you more than you thought they would.

S: No training anymore, made it onto the hero course. The interview? Remember?
S: 1-B currently celebrating.

You decide to leave that for when your heart isn't aching slightly. He never told you that he actually made the course, and you can't help but feel like you should have been one of the first people to know.
You wanted to celebrate too, but maybe just on your own with him. He deserved it after all the hard work you'd seen him put in, and you couldn't help but be a little sour that it wasn't you celebrating with him.
You open the response from Keigo.

Wings: ha ha ha, anyone ever told you how original you are kid?

"What's that face for?" A familiar voice asks, and you jolt, almost dropping your phone in your surprise.

Akio catches it fluidly, holding it and clearly reading what's on the screen as you try to snatch it back from him.
He holds it out of arms reach as he reads the texts from Keigo aloud with a smirk.

"Give it back!" You snap, genuinely annoyed.

He chuckles, throwing it in the air, luckily with you managing to catch it before it could fall to the floor. Keigo would have been able to get you a new one if it broke, but that's besides the point.
You didn't like people having your phone. Especially reading your messages aloud where someone could easily overhear.

"So. Empty house, huh?" He asks, leaning against the wall and grinning at you wolfishly.

"Only for a couple of hours." You reply, the lie leaving you before you really even processed you were going to lie.
