Go To War

You were laying on your back while on the sofa, singing to yourself downstairs, trying to find the best acoustics in your home in your boredom.
Your wings are spread out as far as they can go, even though it looks ridiculous, and you would probably look like you'd been a victim of a burglary gone wrong if Keigo came back and saw you like this.
But he wouldn't, because he'd gone to see Aoi, and you knew all too well that he would be with her for hours if he had the choice.

Hitoshi hasn't replied to messages all day, neither has Uraraka, or Midoriya, or anyone else you tended to keep in touch with outside of the UA walls.
It was like it had gone radio silent on all fronts.
You shrug it off as them all being busy with the crazy training regiments they were all in now, and silently praise Keigo for taking you off the hero course in time for you to miss all of that.

You're midway through a long high note that you definitely do not hit when Keigo comes through the door, and you sit bolt upright in your surprise, pulling the large shirt you wore to bed down even further, even though it stopped just above your knees anyway.
Keigo squawks in surprise for a second too, his wings fluffing behind him, but it's short lived because his expression slowly twists into a teasing smirk.

"Don't." You warn.

"You were singing." Keigo says, grinning and completely ignoring your warning.

"Quit it." You huff, getting up.

"My little songbird!" He calls in a sing-song voice, wrapping an arm around you and rubbing his stubbly cheek against yours affectionately.

"Ugh! Stop it!" You snap, trying to wiggle free but only finding yourself trapped in the red cage of his feathers.

"Sing me a song then." He croons teasingly.

"No! Get off!" You groan, trying desperately to push him away.

"Aw, c'mon, sing for your dad." He says in an even more teasing tone.

"I will run away. I'll do it." You deadpan.

"Pfft. Like you could outrun me." Keigo pinches your cheek but releases you.

"You're the worst and I hate you." You tell him, not really meaning it this time around.

"Love you too, kid." Keigo replies easily, getting a coffee out of the fridge. "I need to talk to you when you're ready."

You pause in your steps, standing and giving him a suspicious look at the bottom of the stairs.

"Have I done something wrong?" You ask, a little confused.

Because for once, you actually hadn't.
You'd been doing the school work sent to you, you attended all the online classes, you told him when and where you were going as well as whoever you were going to be with, you hadn't even tried to get back into contact with Ama and Genji, and had been obedient in only contacting people around your age.

"No, dove. It's work stuff." Keigo smiles softly, waving at you for you to go upstairs and change.

Your eyebrows furrow, but you take it at face value. Whatever it was must be more important than the usual tales of old women calling him out for nothing, and being stopped a million times in a day to have his photo taken or autographs signed.
You pull some sweatpants on quickly before thumping back down the stairs, your curiosity fuelling your interest in speaking to him.

"So what's up?" You ask him, leaning on the countertop opposite of him.

He peers up at you, looking a little guilty for some reason and then he locks his phone, placing it on the counter.
