Ungrateful

"Why?" You ask. "What about Aoi?"

"Because I'm a firm believer in an eye for an eye." Shigaraki responds coolly. "You took our daughter, so we take you."

You look at him like he's batshit crazy, which, you know...

"As for Hiyoko, she'll be kept with the others that are in this base, and I'll see which of those want to speak up against the HSPC and what they did." Shigaraki says calmly.

"I want to." You interrupt. "So you don't need to keep me. I'll do it."

He raises a non-brow at you. "You need to wait to decide that. The fact I'll be taking you has nothing to do with what they did to you and your parents."

"Why the hell do I need to wait?" You snap. "They ruined everything. He ruined everything. These ruined everything."

You yank on one of your broken wings, yelping when it hurts a lot more than cutting yourself ever had.
Shigaraki's expression darkens, his movements lightning quick as he leans over the table and he grabs the wrist of the arm you'd used to hurt yourself with, his grip tight.

"If you do that again, I'll have you cuffed as well. Do we understand each other?" He asks, his voice dark for the first time since interacting with you.

For some reason, finally seeing the man snap back at you, even though it was a lot less explosive than your anger, and a lot more calm and calculated, has your heart beating irregularly and your lungs becoming hard to control again.
You just about manage a weak nod though, and he stares at you for a second longer before letting go of you and sitting back in his seat.

"You have to wait before deciding that because it's fresh news to you, so it's bound to hurt more." He explains calmly, although he still looks more pissed off than he had earlier. "These people have been suffering for a lot longer under the hands of the Commission, and have likely been aware of it the entire time. Besides, these people are adults capable of understanding what the fallout can be of speaking up against the society that had been in charge of every narrative for so long."

He inhales deeply through his nose, and seems to force himself to relax his faintly furrowed brows. "You're just a kid. You don't understand there are long term consequences to these things yet."

"I'm not stupid, I understand all of that." You scowl.

"You're fourteen. That's three years older than Star. A kid." Shigaraki says firmly. "And it's late. You should rest while I speak to all these survivors."

Like you'd be able to rest with everything you'd been told, and knowing the top villain in Japan was in your space, and was apparently 'taking' you once he was done here.

"I won't be able to sleep." You mutter, your eyes falling to the table again as Shigaraki pulls Rai's diary toward himself.

"Then pack." He says simply.

"I already am packed." You reply.

He looks kind of amused, even though you're not really actively trying to argue with him like you had earlier. Your back hurt even more now that you'd pulled at your wing in a stupid anger-induced move, and you were anxious, naturally.

"You can rest." He repeats. "I already told you, I'm not going to do anything to hurt you. I'll be here, dealing with the breeding programme victims."

Maybe he was self-assured enough to think that he could sit in a soundproofed room while you 'rested' in the bedroom without attempting to escape, because he was Tomura Shigaraki. Not many people escaped from him and lived to tell the tale.
And when you get up, feigning obedience, he does seem to look a little softer. He gets up too, following you to the door.
Aoi looks up, a clear hope in the watery brown eyes that meet you, and Wani and his giant, scarred friend stand up again.
