(About a week later when everyone/thing was situated in their new house.)
It was a Friday night. Mom and David we're going away for the weekend. (I'm used to saying 'Mom and dad'. But it doesn't feel right to call him 'dad'. So I guess David will be what I call him...😔). All four of us were at the front door saying our goodbyes. "Bye sweetie.." Said mom as she hugged me. Mom went over to Jack and hugged him too. "Bye Jess..." Said David as he hugged me too. I hugged him back, but it still felt weird even though he's my "father figure", But I still hugged him. Mom, being a typical mom, laid down the rules. "No parties, be careful, be safe, don't do anything stupid..." She trailed off and thought for a second. I chuckled. Even though she was being serious, it was still amusing to hear. I was super lazy today. I was just wearing leggings, a hot pink tank top, a PINK sweatshirt, and nikes. (I wasn't gonna do anything this weekend. I wasn't in any mood for breaking rules or partying today or....ever. I'm kind of a goody goody.) "Can Jack come over?" Asked Jack. David nodded. We chatted for a while before they left. Jack and I waved at them when they pulled out for the driveway. Jack closed the door and ran over to the couch and flopped on it. I chuckled. I got my laptop, bottle of water, and sat down on the other couch. "So what are you gonna do tonight?" Jack asked. "Online shopping!" I said happily. He rolled his eyes. "Dude, that is so boring..." I looked at him sarcastically. "What?! I have a credit card and I'm gonna use it!" I say. He laughed. "Are you actually gonna do anything else. They're gonna be gone until Monday." He added. I nodded. "Yeah, but today I'm in a shopping mood." I said while logging in. "Whatever... Jack is coming over. You can hang with us if you want." Said Jack. For whatever reason, I blushed when he said Jack was coming. Unfortunately for me, he saw that. "What was that?!" He said surprisingly. I looked at him like I didn't know what he was talking about. He looked like he saw a ghost. "What..." I said. "This!" He said as he mimicked me. "Did I do that?" I asked cluelessly. "Yeah... When I mentioned Jack..." He said slowly. I didn't make eye contact with him. I just looked at my laptop. "Do you like him??" He asked reluctantly. Is shook my head. "Hell no!" I said. (If you didn't know this about me, I only cuss or raise my voice when I'm trying to hide something. But I don't know why I did that. I really don't like Jack that way.) Jack looked at me slyly. "Yes you do..." He said. "No I don't." I replied quickly. "Yes you-" Jack started but was interrupted by someone knocking on the door. He got up to go answer it. He looked at me one last time before he opens the door and said: "We'll discuss this later..." With a sly grin on his face. I rolled my eyes and looked back at my laptop. "Heyyy Jack!" Said Jack G excitedly. "Hey bro what's up?!" Said Jack J. They said their hellos and walked into the living room. "Jess, Jack is here." Said Jack G as they came over to where I was sitting. "Heyyy...." I said while not taking my eyes off the screen. If I did I'd probably blush again. "Hey Jessica." Said Jack J. Jack and Jack stayed for a while a talked. But they eventually left. "We'll be upstairs if you need us." Said Jack G as they went upstairs. "K" I replied. I was kinda glad they left the room. I was trying so hard not to make it look like I liked Jack J. What if it did look like I liked him...then that would be a lie...
Jack G POV:
Jack and I decided to go up to my room. I asked Jessica if she wanted to come, but she declined. I think I knew why😏... She kinda makes it obvious that she likes Jack. But I see the way Jack looks at her. And if I'm right, then I'm guessing that Jack has a thing for her too...
