Chapter 7: Meeting Brent Rivera

The next day

I woke up with pain in my neck. I groaned as I sat up. Wait, I didn't have to sit up. I already was. I was still on the couch. My laptop was to my left; it had eventually shut off, or ran out of battery. Wow, I actually fell asleep... I thought. I checked the time on my phone. It was 8:24am. I fell asleep on the couch and I slept late... I normally don't sleep in too late. I usually wake up around 7:00-7:30am. But whatever. It's not like I had to be somewhere this morning. I went upstairs to my bathroom to "freshen up". When I was done I went back to the kitchen and ate breakfast. When I finished eating, Jack Johnson came down the stairs. "Hey." He said in a sleepy voice. "Sup." I replied. He went over to the couch and laid down. "I didn't know you slept over..." I say. "Yeah, you passed out last night. Jack wanted to smack cam you..." He said while chucking. I smiled. "I'm glad he didn't. Or else you wouldn't have a best friend the next day..." I said sarcastically. "Yeah, I stopped him..." He said. "Thanks..." I say. I could feel my face getting hotter. I left Jack and went back upstairs. I walked to my room. As I was walking I noticed Jack G's door was open. I looked in his room and found that he was still asleep. I smiled creepily to myself. I went to the bathroom and got the shaving cream. My phone was downstairs. I ran back downstairs and went over to Jack J. "Jack, you gonna help?!" I asked; holding up the shaving cream. He smiled slyly at me. "Yeah..." He said while getting up. Jack got his phone and followed me to Jack G's room. "You gonna do it?" Jack whispered. "Duh..." I said jokingly. I put the shaving cream in my hand. Jack gave me a thumbs up when he was ready. He mouthed "One...two....three..." On three I slapped him. Jack G's eyes immediately popped open. Jack J and I started laughing hysterically. Jack J and I ran out of the room. Jack G ran after us. I heard him shout: "Jack I'm gonna kill you!" We just kept laughing and ran downstairs. We stopped when we got back to the living room. Jack G wiped some shaving cream off his face and slapped Jack J. Then Jack G came over to me. I tried to run away but he grabbed me by my wrist. And before I knew it, I had shaving cream wiped on my face. At least I was still the the clothes I wore yesterday. We all started cracking up.

A few hours later

Obviously we've got the shaving cream off our faces, but we were just chilling in the living room. "So what are we gonna do?" Asked Jack G. I shrugged. "Mall?" I asked. He groaned. "But that's boring..." "You act like I'm gonna drag you through all of my favorite stores." I said sarcastically. "Yeah, we can do that..." Said Jack J. Jack G groaned again. "Sorry, two against one." Said Jack J. I chuckled. I got dressed. I was wearing a floral skater skirt, grey crop top, "Keds" brand wedges, a pink necklace, and threw on my shades. I put a flower headband in my hair and left it curly.
(Skipped to when we're in mall)
"Ok, call me or something if you guys are trying to find me..." I say. "Ok, bye." Said Jack G as he started to walk away. I started to walk away too. "Wait!" Jack J nearly shouted. I stopped walking. When he approached me he got quieter. "Umm...can I have your number too... 'ya know...in case I need to call you..." He sputtered. Uhh...sure..." I replied. We handed each other our phones and put our numbers in. I could feel myself blushing. "Uhh...thanks.." Jack sputtered again. "No problem..." I said. Suddenly, Jack G came up behind Jack J. "Dude, stop flirting. Let's go!" He said impatiently. Jack's face turned red too. "I wasn't-" He started but Jack pulled him away. I chuckled and walked away. I decided I'd go to Hollister first.

Jack G POV:

"So where are we going?" Jack asked. I couldn't help but laugh a little. "Dude I can not believe you." I said while trying to stop laughing. He looked confused. "What?" He asked. "You're so obvious..." I say. "Obvious about what?!" He continued asking. "Do you like her? I asked with a sly smirk. "Like who?!" "Jessica!" I nearly shouted. Jack blushed. "No... I just....wanted her number...that's a normal thing to do..." He mumbled. I jokingly shook my head. "I think you do.." I said. "No...I like her as my friend...I just met her..." He protested. I didn't buy it. "Why does she like me?" He asked hopefully. I half smiled. "Maybe... I don't know..." I said slyly. I was pretty sure Jessica did like him. But I wasn't sure...

Jessica POV:
(A few hours later)
I was in Hollister for a while😁. But Jack or Jack hadn't called me yet. So I guess I didn't have to worry. When I left Hollister I went in the direction of Aeropostale. Suddenly, I heard someone call my name. "Jessica?!!" I spun around to see who it was. I eventually found out who it was when they started running towards me. It was my best friend since middle school, Brent Rivera. His dad is in the military which made them move from LA to Nebraska about three years ago. I haven't seen him in so long I honestly forgot he lived out here. He was also my boyfriend in ninth grade. "Brent?!" I shouted. I went over to him and hugged him. He hugged me back and spun me around. "What are you doing here?!" He asked in excitement. "My mom remarried and we moved." I say. I didn't give him all the details right now, I was just really happy he was here. "So you're living here now!!" He exclaimed. I nodded. He hugged me again. "I missed you!" I said. "I'm missed you too! I'm so glad you're here now!" He said. I smiled. I was gonna tell him about my new family, but my phone started ringing. It was Jack G. "Hello?" "Hey" he replied. "Are you guys done or..." "Yeah." He said. "Ok, where are you?" I asked. "Look behind you.." He said. I looked behind me and saw that about ten feet away was Jack and Jack. I hung up. "Is that-" Brent started but I just nodded. "Yep." I said.

Jack G POV:

After a few hours of shopping, Jack and I had enough. We were walking past Hollister at the time. "I'll call Jess..." I. Said while pulling out my phone. Suddenly, Jack stopped dead in his tracks. Noticing he wasn't walking next to me anymore, I stopped walking and walked back over to him. "You ok?" I asked. "Uhh...yeah." He said while snapping back into reality. I saw what he was staring at. Jessica was hugging some guy. Turns out it was Brent Rivera. I looked back at Jack. "Are you staring at Jessica?" I asked slyly. "What? No, that's weird.." He said while starting to walk again. I called her and told Jess that we were right behind her.

Jessica POV:

"Hey Jess, I didn't know you knew anyone else that's famous." Said Jack G sarcastically. I smiled. "Jack, Jack, this is my best friend, Brent Rivera." I said. Jack J have me a funny look. "It looks like you're more than friends." He said rudely. "yeah, we dated in ninth grade." Said Brent. "Brent, Jack G is my new stepbro and Jack J is my friend." I added. All four of us talked for a while before Jack, Jack, and I had to leave.
Jack and Jack started heading towards the car, but I stayed with Brent for a second. I have him my address before I left. "Thank..." He said while hugging me. I hugged him back. "Bye" I say. He replied: "Bye.."
