just for today | CLARIO "it's getting late since when did taking time take all my life"
"Cora! Finally!"
It was October 20th, the weather had finally started to cool, and it wasn't going to be long before the days shortened too. Cora had finally gotten into the swing of things. After a metaphorical slap in the face from Cassius and a night crying in the bathtub she had somewhat returned to the mental stable vision of perfection she once was. Well as much as one could be after being raised by abusive blood supremacists.
She felt lighter, and then she felt guilty about feeling better. But she was feeling better. Even though they had only had three lessons the members of the DA were warming to her, smiling at her in the corridors and even asking her questions on how to improve. She was finally putting her skills to use in a non-self-serving avenue, and it was nice.
So here she was, Monday afternoon, in the darkest corner of the library, where her four best friends were staring back at her. She had practically ran from her evening Astronomy class, so she was sure they could all hear her huffing and puffing.
"Please never leave me alone with these Neanderthals again! Honestly this is nearly as bad as Azkaban!" Amelia waved her over to the spare seat in the middle of her and Lee.
Cora took it quickly before glaring at the rest of the group. "What did I tell you lot about being nice to Amelia?"
Without a second thought they droned in unison. "Play nice or I'll hex you into the next century." Their monotone voices creeped Cora out, sending shivers down her spine. She hated when the twins spoke in unison and it was even worse when Lee did it as well.
But the slimy feeling was gone instantly when the blonde beamed up at her. "That's why you're my favourite." She felt her quickly peck her cheek, causing Cora to laugh heartily, resting her head on Amelia's shoulder to return the affection and sentiment.
From across her George threw his hands up in retaliation. "Can you not steal my girlfriend?!" Fred and Lee each respectively began patting his back, comforting the boy in an exaggerated display.
"Not my fault George, sounds like an issue on your behalf actually." The redhead huffed causing Cora to roll her eyes.
"You know what mate, at least you have a girlfriend!" All eyes were suddenly on Lee, and Cora was unsure whether to make fun of him, or console him.
Fred made the decision for the group. "C'mon you can't be using that card anymore! I know you loved her and whatever, yadda yadda..." Cora's eyes went wide, praying he would take the comment in a better direction. "But at least you had a girlfriend! No one around here will bloody take me!"
