Supergirl: Undone

08 - Capture

J'onn and Lena became surrounded with guns pointed at them. All the fighting men he had mind controlled had already been knocked out with stun weapons by the other officials. J'onn put his hands up, and looked at Lena, gesturing for her to do the same. The Luther followed suit. Then, another set of 'FBI' agents came through a set of doors from the left wing stair hall. The D.E.O. Colonel Haley looked at J'onn, and nodded her head at him. They weren't here to apprehend Supergirl...

J'onn glanced at the Colonel, like he was waiting for a confirmation, then he spoke to Lena through her mind, 'I can get you and I out of here, but we will have to leave the others. —— And it's going to feel weird.' Lena glanced at him, and then suddenly, J'onn grabbed hold of her, causing them to be shot at, but nothing hit them because they fell down at an incredibly fast rate through every floor, and stopped once they were underground. Lena backed away, grabbing her stomach, "Yes, definitely very weird—." She turned to J'onn, who shapeshifted back to his human self, (Hank Henshaw), "That was the D.E.O... I thought they were on our side?"

"They are," J'onn replied, "I spoke with Colonel Haley before all of this. When I got back from Mars, I heard about what happened, and I had to take my first stop at the D.E.O."

Minutes after Supergirl arrived at CatCo 

"Director Danvers!" Colonel Haley called in a furious tone when she saw Alex walk into the D.E.O. She walked up to Alex with the tension growing in each step she took, "My office, now!"

Alex furrowed her eyebrows and followed, awkwardly. She closed the door after walking in behind the Colonel. Haley turned around and said in an anger-filled tone, "You and Brainy said that Supergirl would stay off the radar until after her name was cleared! She shouldn't be trying to clear it herself! Now the entire D.E.O is being called in to apprehend her, and if worst comes to worst, kill her!"

Alex seemed to stay unphased by what the Colonel said. She stepped forward, and her eyes glowed red, "I am not Director Danvers."

Haley sighed, "J'onn J'onzz. The Green Martian." She questioned, "Why are you impersonating my Director?"

"Because at a time like this, being seen entering the D.E.O as myself seems too risky. Thanks to my affiliation with Supergirl. I need to know how this all happened. I left Earth for basically ten seconds, and returned with Supergirl as America's most wanted and everyone knowing who she is."

"I don't know how it all happened; I just know that Supergirl has basically offered herself up by showing up at CatCo again! And now my hand is being forced. If I don't help apprehend her, I will be arrested on the assumption of trying to protect her and disobeying orders, and this D.E.O base will be disbanded. And if I do, I'm arresting someone who has saved countless lives, and preventing her from continuing to save more."

"Then the choice is obvious, Colonel. Do what you know is actually right for this country," J'onn stated. He walked closer to Haley, "But don't sit back."

"And what exactly are you saying, Mr. J'onzz?" Haley tilted her head. She set her hand on her waist and let the other fall loose by her side.

"The D.E.O will be disbanded anyway if you choose to sit back, which is probably the best thing for it anyway with Ben Lockwood and the President giving the D.E.O some greatly disagreeable orders." J'onn shrugged. He continued, nodding at her, "Help protect Supergirl. Bring everyone who is willing to take the risk, and stop the other government officials from apprehending her."

Haley furrowed her eyebrows. It would be a decent plan. Sort of a, 'Taking you down with me,' plan, but... J'onn continued, taking a step forward, "However; whether or not this fails, everyone will be arrested if found. You all will have to go into hiding until Supergirl's name is cleared, and even if it is, you all could lose any job involving the law or the government."
