CatCo

Cat watched the news with her arms crossed. The Daily Planet beat her to the punch on the first story. The headline read, 'SUPERGIRL GOES TO TRIAL.' Brainy, and every other CatCo employee, paused to watch as well. Cat shook her head, "This is ridiculous." She walked past Briany and out of her office. She ordered everyone, "I don't care what any of you believe, we are going to report the other side of the story. Clearly the Daily Planet has taken this grab against Supergirl, throwing CatCo's hero down. But we are not going to let that happen, people!" Brainy came up next to Cat. "We're going to do everything we can to make sure this trial sticks to Supergirl's side." Everyone gave Cat a disapproving glare. "I want exclusives with people Supergirl has saved. People with personal stories to tell. We're going to overrun this bad energy with good energy. Prove to the world how much good Supergirl has done." Cat looked around the room, "And I want everybody on it. If you don't want to be on it, then get out," Cat demanded. When everybody stood still, she clapped her hands together, "Now chop chop!"

Midvale

J'onn watched the TV as the news flooded about the trial. "I have to get to National City. Kara wouldn't be here in Midvale; she'd be on top of this at CatCo. And the real Kara needs J'onn J'onzz."

Eliza was watching as well, "You're right. Kara would be there, but you're not a reporter, J'onn. You don't have to go as Kara."

"I'm whatever I have to be," He nodded at Eliza before going towards the door.

"Take me with you. I have to be there for Kara. She needs her mother as well," Eliza told J'onn with a firm voice; like she wasn't going to take no for an answer. Not that J'onn was going to disagree. J'onn nodded. He shapeshifted into Kara and then he picked Eliza up and flew to National City, staying out of sight lines. And then he landed near CatCo and went inside with Eliza.

"Well, that is most certainly an unexpected turn of events. I didn't expect a trial for Supergirl. Truthfully, I fully expected they'd kill her," Max remarked.

"As surprising as it is, I'm relieved. This means Supergirl is still alive, and now we have an opportunity to save her," Alex informed.

"You do realize, this trial will be the most heavily guarded trial in history. There will always be eyes on Supergirl during this. We can't exactly sneak in anywhere and just—break her out," Max shook his head and gestured a head at the TV.

"We have to. We might not get another chance," Nia stated.

"We? What are you going to do? You're just a reporter who happens to be friends with a bunch of 'superheroes,'" Max raised his eyebrows and questioned with a shrug.

"That doesn't matter," Alex caught his attention. "Because I already have a plan." She looked at the computer screen with cameras on Lockwood. Then she looked at Max, "You created a device to counteract Myriad. I'm sure you've conjured up a device by now with the opposite effects? A mind control device?"

Max sighed, "I have—something."

"Good. Because we're going to use Lockwood. He's going to give us the opening we need to save Supergirl," Alex stated with a smile.

CatCo

J'onn and Eliza walked in, it was crowded and busy. Everyone was put to work. But it wasn't all paperwork, it seemed to all just be interviews getting set up. Brainy walked out of Cat's office. He looked 'Kara' from head to toe, "Hi—Kara." He said with a very awkward tone, knowing it had to be J'onn. "And Dr. Danvers," he greeted Eliza.
