President Baker stood up out of his seat in the White House and gestured for the other men in the room to leave after his apology message to Kara Danvers. Once the men were out, he pressed a button on his desk. A hologram appeared at the center of the room. "You told me, before Supergirl revealed herself, that she was Kara Danvers. You were wrong."
The hologram image stepped closer to the desk. The iconic voice of Lex Luthor, "Yes, it would appear my sister has managed to clear her friend's name. But I wasn't wrong, Mr. President. Kara Danvers is Supergirl."
"You had me order my men to confront her personal ties. And we went to extreme measures to find Kara Danvers, who isn't even Supergirl. You can't continue to claim that she is after seeing the footage. Kara Danvers was at AmerTek when the second attack happened. She has a solid alibi. Accept that you're wrong, Luthor."
"I won't because I'm not," Lex stated firmly. "If you think my sister isn't smart enough to edit some footage, then you have greatly underestimated her. Ignore the footage." Lex demanded. "You will see that I am right in due time. We already have Supergirl, which means 'Kara,' who has been cleared, will be nowhere to be found, and people will realize that the footage was a lie." Lex shook his head, "It's a minor setback, but one that'll be resolved all on its own with time."
"Speaking of Supergirl, where are you keeping her?" The President asked. "She is expected to be seen at trial in a week. The public wants to face her."
"What does it matter? She's an alien. The Alien Amnesty Act has been repealed. She has no rights, which means she shouldn't have a trial," Lex shook his head and shrugged.
"No. But we've agreed to give her one. She will no doubt have a sentence of life imprisonment or death, but the people need to see that sentence happen, and they want to face their biggest traitor."
"Well cancel. It is a risk to provide Supergirl with a trial. All those people would be at risk for just being in proximity. The reason Supergirl is contained, is because I am the one containing her. And even for just one trial, it is too much of a risk to take her out of containment," Lex ordered before ending the hologram call.
Few Days Later
Lex stepped away from where he spoke to the President from. He'd been talking with the President everyday. He walked over to Kara, who was latched to a bed with Kryptonite latches. "You know, my sister is truly persistent. She really believes that you're not Supergirl." Lex raised his eyebrows. He chuckled while adjusting the sleeves of his suit, "It's foolish really."
Kara clenched her teeth, "What do you want with me? Why haven't you killed me?"
"Because. I already tried to kill you," Lex sighed. "And somehow, you survived. I'd like to know how," He informed. "And once I do, then I'll kill you," he said, walking away to grab a Kryptonite scalpel, "but, of course, I'll have my fun with the Kryptonite while doing so." He walked back over to Kara and cut the palm of her hand, causing her to groan, trying to hold back a scream from the pain. "I calculated the exact amount of Kryptonite to give those men at CatCo in order for it to kill you by proximity, and yet you somehow lived. You even flew."
"So it was a kill order?" Kara said in a heavy breath.
"No," Lex shook his head. He let the blood dripping from Kara's hand fill a small capsule. He chose the most painful way to get her blood. "They had no idea they had enough to kill you. It was supposed to be discrete..." Lex shook his head.
Kara watched him set the blood in a testing system, much like the one Lena had. The Kryptonian turned her head away from Lex.
Lex questioned, "What? No longer in a talking mood?"
