CHAPTER 09 - The Perfect Storm

"This is insane. How many words do they expect you to learn in one night?" Hanna asks incredulously as she become completely bored from the revision for the SATs.

"Stringent." Aria says.

"Tough, inflexible." Taylor answers before Spencer, the two made it a competition to see who could get the most definitions right. Taylor found it surprising when she realised that she was winning.

"It's not like your actually going to use them." Hanna adds to her question from a minute ago.

"No, probably not Hanna, but if you want good grades to get into a good college to then get a good job, you need to know pointless stuff." Taylor tells her twin as she wraps her arms around Hanna from behind, giving her a hug. However, Taylor couldn't help but notice that Emily still wasn't with them.

Hanna then begins to question Aria about Noel Kahn but Spencer quickly shuts Hanna's questioning down stating that they have less than 12 hours till their SATs.

"Okay, Spencer, you do not need to know anymore big words. You're already scary enough to anyone under fifty."

"I'm not scary! Am I scary?"

"Maybe just a little." Taylor tells Spencer but she changes her answer when she notices the looks that she was receiving from Aria and Hanna. "Okay, fine! Very scary."

"Well I can't be as bad as Taylor surely? I mean come on, I'm just scary. Taylor is scary and... and violent." Spencer says causing them all to laugh.

"Hey!" Taylor jokingly complains whilst playfully hitting Spencer on the head.

Then Hanna goes back to talking about how cute Aria and Noel would look. After that was quickly shut down the conversation about how happy and cute Spencer and Alex are together, the girls were even wondering when they will become boyfriend and girlfriend.

"Oh come on guys. You don't need a guy to make you happy. See look at me for example. I'm not obsessing over a guy and having my world revolve around him and I'm perfectly fine." Taylor gestures to herself.

Before any of the girls could make any sarcastic comments about her statement, Mrs. Hastings enters the kitchen. "Where's Emily?" Mrs. Hastings asks after she notices that one of the girls were missing.

"I would love to know the answer to that question too."

"Taylor!"

"What?"

"She's probably on her way over." Spencer tells her mother, not really knowing where Emily was either but also not too worried about it.

Even though there's a huge storm going on outside, the SATs weren't cancelled and were still going ahead. Something that Taylor wasn't all too happy with. So now here she was in school after Mrs. Hastings decided to drive the girls to school.

Once Spencer's mother had walked off to find out whether they were going to cancel the SATs, Taylor noticed that Alex was also at the school. "You didn't say Alex was taking the test here too." Taylor comments as she looks over towards Spencer.

This causes the girl to turn and try and find out where he was. Once she found him, Taylor saw the smile on Spencer's face. "Why do you think I wanted my mom to drop us off and leave?"

Alex then comes over and the pair start making out, right in front of Taylor, Hanna and Aria.

However, when Taylor sees Mrs. Hastings coming back over she quickly but lightly hits Spencer on the back of the head.
