CHAPTER 11 - Moments Later

Taylor and the others were in the waiting room of the hospital, anxious to hear any sort of news about Hanna. Emily, Spencer and Aria were all on the phone to their parents telling them what happened whilst Taylor's mom was getting news about Hanna.

A few minutes later Taylor's mom walks into the waiting room, instantly getting everyone's attention. "Is she okay mom?"

"She's going to be alright." Ashley reveals causing Taylor to let out the biggest sigh of relief knowing that her sister will be fine. "She uh... she has a broken leg and a broken ankle, bruised ribs, and they might have to remove her spleen."

"Well at least now both me and Hanna have broken our legs. Granted mine was from tripping and falling down the stairs and Hanna got hit by a car. But the outcome is the same none the less." Taylor tells everyone trying to ease the tension, which seemed to have worked as everyone laughed at her words.

"The police should be looking for Toby Cavanaugh." Spencer tells Taylor's mom, thinking it was him who ran Hanna over because she still thinks that he's A.

"It wasn't Toby Cavanaugh." Ashley tells the girls. "The police picked him up last night." She explains after seeing their confused faces.

"What?" Both Taylor and Emily ask in shock.

"One of the offices told me they found him hiding in town, they were bringing him in to the station when they got the call about Hanna."

Even though Taylor was upset about Toby getting caught and arrested she couldn't help but be a little happy as this should now stop Spencer from thinking that he's A. But she wonders who told the police where Toby was. It wasn't her or any of the other girls.

"You girls should go home." Taylor's mother tells them.

"What? No. I have to stay here. I have to stay with Hanna." Taylor tells her mom trying to get her to not make her leave.

"I will call you when Hanna can have visitors , I promise. But you need rest, and you won't get any here." Ashley tells her daughter before walking back to the doctors.

As soon as Taylor's mom walked away Emily states, "Toby isn't A."

"Well Hanna knows who it is." Spencer retorts. "That's why A tried to kill her."

"Can we not say A tried to kill Hanna please? I don't like thinking about it that way." Taylor mentions. "More like A wanted to disable Hanna so she couldn't follow them around."

"How's that any better?"

"She's alive."

"You think they're just trying to scare us?" Emily questions.

"Well it worked."

"This was never about scaring us." Spencer says. "That was just a bonus. And this started with murder, we were crazy to think that it wouldn't end up like this."

"Should we tell the cops?"

This causes Taylor to look at Emily in disbelief. "Tell them what?"

"Everything."

"Everything! Are you crazy? Wait don't answer that, yes you are. Also we don't know everything." Taylor tells the girls.

"So what should we do?" Aria asks stressed.

"Well, we talk to Hanna before we do anything." Spencer answers.

But then Taylor thinks of something, "Is Hanna safe here?" This causes all of the girls to look at each other wondering whether Hanna would actually be safe at the hospital. After a while Spencer told Taylor a very unconvincing yes. "You need to get better at this whole convincing thing Spencer." Taylor tells the girl before leaving the hospital to walk home.
