Stephen had been in labor for the past few hours, although at first, he didn't give the contractions much thought.

He was currently pacing around in the kitchen in his robe, a cup of tea clutched in his trembling hands.

He was right in the middle of a fairly rough contraction, causing him to nearly drop his coffee cup.

He set his tea down and grabbed a chair, he leaned against it and rocked his hips from side to side, moaning lowly in pain and trying to even out his breathing.

Tony eventually woke up when he noticed that his husband wasn't in bed.

He got up and went to go find him.

He soon spotted him in the kitchen leaned over a chair.

He frowned in worry and walked up to him, gently rubbing his shoulder.

"Hey, baby. What's wrong?" he asked.

Stephen turned his head toward Tony and managed to stand up straighter. "I'm in labor"

Tony's eyes widened. "In labor?! How long have you been in labor?!" he exclaimed.

"Doctor Strange has been in labor for approximately three hours, Boss" F. R. I. D. A. Y replied.

"Well, why didn't you wake me up or something?" Tony asked, crossing his arms.

"I didn't want to wake you. It just sort of happened. I got up to get something to drink and then the contractions started up" Stephen explained.

Tony softened a bit. "It's okay, I understand, I just can't believe you're in labor already"

"It was a bit sudden, but I'm excited to meet our son" Stephen smiled and rubbed the underside of his large belly.

They eventually moved to the living room and Tony stood behind Stephen, holding him by the waist, it was now light outside.

"Can you believe this is happening?" Tony whispered, leaning his chin on Stephen's shoulder.

"Yeah, I've had plenty of time to get used to the idea" Stephen replied, his eyes closed.

Tony chuckled softly at that, gently massaging Stephan's hips and belly.

Their midwife soon came to the house, Stephen had picked a spare room that was quiet and peaceful, Tony placed a medium sized inflatable pool into the room and filled it with warm water.

Once the pool had been filled, Tony helped Stephen into the water and sat behind him, gently massaging his hips.

Stephen closed his eyes and leaned back against Tony's chest.

His contractions were steadily getting closer together.

They were holding hands under the water and Tony could feel Stephen's hands start to tremble whenever he felt a contraction.

"Shhh, baby, it's okay, just take a breath" Tony whispered, massaging Stephen's palms to comfort him.

Natalie, their midwife, sat behind them and gently rubbed Stephen's face with a cool washcloth.

For the most part, Stephen was calm, then he felt a rough contraction that caused him to jolt.

"Ah! A-ahh!" he gasped, leaning his head back against Tony's chest.

Tony rubbed his shoulder. "It's okay, just breathe"

Natalie moved to sit in front of the inflatable pool. "Okay Tony, I need you to lift his leg up"

Tony nodded and held Stephen's left leg up while Natalie held the right.

Natalie looked at Stephan with a smile. "Alright, sweetie. Whenever you feel ready, give me a nice, big push"

Stephen nodded and took a few shaky breaths, he closed his eyes and squeezed Tony's hand, then he began to push.

Natalie smiled and rubbed his thigh. "Oh, Stephen"

"You're so strong, you're doing so good" Tony whispered, kissing the side of his head.

After a few minutes of pushing, Stephen felt ready to give up, he leaned his head back and panted heavily.

Natalie rubbed his shoulder. "Sweetie, don't give up, you're so close now. I can see the baby's head. You're doing great"

Hearing that filled Stephen with a newfound strength.

He was so exhausted and his entire body was in pain, tears began to fall down his face.

Tony reached over and wiped his tears away. "Steph, you're doing great. You're so strong, baby. You just need to keep going a little longer"

Stephen opened and closed his eyes slowly. "I just want to see my baby" he cried softly, leaning his head to the side.

"Just one more big push, Stephen, okay? That's all I need is one more big push. You can do this and then your baby will be here" Natalie encouraged.

Gathering the last of his strength, Stephen took a deep breath and slowly let it out, then he began to push with all his remaining strength.

Then finally, after what felt like an eternity, Natalie grinned and reached down into the water, pulling up a baby boy.

The baby boy wailed loudly and flailed his arms around, face red and chubby cheeks tear stained.

Stephen's head leaned to the side, panting heavily to catch his breath.

Tony was bawling like a baby. "Oh! Stephen, just look at him! Look at him! He's amazing!" he exclaimed.

Natalie cleaned the wailing baby boy up and gently settled him down against Stephen's chest, who admired his son with tired eyes.

"Hello, Peter" he said softly, watching as the baby boy settled against his chest and began to suckle.

Tony kissed the side of Stephen's head. "I'm so proud of you, baby"
