Morning labor

Iida had always been a morning person, ever since he was a kid, it had become a hard habit for him to break when he got pregnant and wasn't able to go on his morning jogs anymore, Deku had heavily insisted that he take it easy on the running.

As his pregnancy progressed, Iida got used to being more stationary, once he reached six months pregnant, he took his maternity leave from being a pro hero.

He took up a few hobbies that helped him not feel so restless, however, he noticed that his daughter was becoming restless from the moment she discovered she could move around.

He thought it was a bit funny how often she would kick, her kicks had been strong from the beginning and that made sleeping next to impossible sometimes.

He and Deku sometimes joked around that she had inherited Iida's quirk and had strong legs.

The closer he got to the end of his pregnancy, the more restless he and the baby became.

One morning, at roughly 4:30am, Iida woke up to the feeling of a rough pain in his right side, he tried to brush it off and not make any noise, but he couldn't stop the low groan that escaped his lips.

Deku's eyes had opened the moment he heard that soft groan, he looked over and saw Iida sitting up. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, moving to sit beside him.

Iida smiled in reassurance. "Yeah, I'm fine, Deku. I didn't mean to wake you"

Deku knew that Iida could be stubborn when he wanted to be, he didn't like to seem weak, especially in front of him.

He rubbed his fiance's shoulder. "Did she kick you too hard again?" he asked.

Iida nodded. "Yeah, sometimes I think she inherited my quirk" he chuckled, grunting softly again.

"I'll be fine. I just need to stretch my legs"

Deku was still a little worried, but he nodded and went back to sleep, letting Iida walk around until the baby settled.

It took a good 45 minutes of walking around before Iida felt the baby finally settle back down.

He sighed heavily and went back to bed.

He managed to sleep for another hour or two before he felt that same pain again, when he looked at the clock, it was now 6:30 in the morning.

He sighed and decided to just go ahead and get up.

He got out of bed and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and comb his hair, then he went into the living room and sat on the yoga ball he had set up to help the occasional back pain he felt.

Deku didn't wake back up until about 9:15, he noticed that Iida wasn't in bed and went to go check on him.

He found him sitting at the kitchen table, he looked uncomfortable.

Deku frowned and walked up to him. "Hey, how are you feeling? Are you doing okay?" he asked.

It took Iida a few seconds to answer, his eyes were tightly closed, he huffed a soft breath. "Honestly? I don't know. I think I'm in labor, but it's too soon to say for sure"
