"These are the coffee grounds. They are all labeled so just make what people ask for. It's fairly straightforward but if you need any help just ask!"
Tweek seems passionate about this. He told me about how he wants to open a coffee shop, I think he could do really well with it in the future.
It would be cute to run our own shop together...
"Okay boys, we are headed out. Make sure to close up at 9." Tweeks dad says as he removes his apron.
"Okay! See you at home, dad." Tweek beams.
He's so perfect.
"We won't be home until late, son. So don't wait up. Get some sleep for school tomorrow."
"Okay!"
Tweeks parents leave and it's just us and one customer.
He taps my shoulder. "You ready for this?"
I smile. "Of course."
"Perfect. Then you can take the next order. Don't worry, I'll still watch to make sure it's right."
He says that as if it's going to take pressure off of me but him watching just makes me more anxious.
I hear the bell above the door jingle as a customer walks in.
I got this. I can't disappoint Tweek.
"Hello! Welcome to Tweek Bros coffee. What can I get started for you today?"
The woman thinks for a moment, staring at the menu as I awkwardly wait for her answer.
"A latte. Two shots of double M."
I turn to Tweek. "Double M?"
"Oh, it's like espresso. A secret recipe from my parents. It's very calming. I usually put about ten of those shots in my coffee."
Tweek watches from behind me as I make the drink. It's fairly easy since there's a cheat sheet back here with all the ingredients.
"Woah- hey be careful with the foam, if you don't do it right it'll go flat."
He reaches over from behind me and puts his hand over mine. "Slowly, like this."
I'm not sure if he said anything else, my heart is beating too loud.
I finish the drink and hand it off. That was easy, this should be a breeze as long as Tweek doesn't pull what he just pulled. I can't focus when he's that close.
The last two hours of work are really slow. People aren't into late night coffee. Which is understandable, in fact, I think the only person who drinks coffee this late is Tweek and his family.
"Craig, can you turn the open sign off and lock the door?"
"Sure."
As I lock the door he counts the money and locks it in a safe. We clean up the shop a bit before clocking out.
"So, Craig? How was your first day?"
"Good, I'm a bit tired though."
"Yeah, that happens when you're on your feet for so long, plus it's late."
"Do you need a ride home?"
"That would be lovely, thank you."
"Anytime."
I open my locker and check my phone.
It's 9:30 pm.
I have 29 messages and 18 missed calls from Clyde.
