In the Mess Hall on Deck 7, Fleet Captain Andrews sat at one of the many tables, in the corner of the room away from everyone else, eating his 'breakfast'. He had not slept or eaten much, so this was his second meal of the day technically, yet it was 0400 hours aboard ship. He opted for the food fabricator's fine choice of 'breakfast option #2' which was a basic egg and toast breakfast with a very small helping of 'bacon', which felt more like reheated ham.

However, today Andrews didn't mind the fake breakfast as his mind was hopelessly preoccupied with what was about to happen. He had a meeting with the admiralty. Not just one admiral, but two admirals, and he had to convince them of his plan for the upcoming battle. He was reading padd after padd, subconsciously shovelling his breakfast into his mouth without noticing. One report, which he was annoyed at for the fact it wasn't brought to his attention earlier, grabbed his attention.

"All intelligence and field reports suggest there is only one enemy asset left in operation," He spoke to himself quietly as he read out the report. "All available evidence suggests that the last remaining enemy asset is one of their 'ring ships'. Destruction of this 'ring ship' is listed as priority one,"

As he was continuing to read through the seemingly endless piles of padds, he realised that the forkfuls of food he was autonomously shovelling into his mouth for the past thirty seconds had been empty, and he'd finished his breakfast.

"Fleet Captain Andrews to the briefing room," A voice echoed throughout the mess hall, and Andrews promptly stood up and began walking to one of the sliding doors and began his journey to the briefing room.

"Admiral Cordwell, Admiral Kirk," Andrews said, addressing the two admirals whose head and shoulders he could see displayed on the screen in front of him. Fleet Captain Andrews and Captain Thomas sat next to each other on a long table, facing a large screen on the wall that displayed two separate live feeds. One from Admiral Cordwell, whose position is classified, and one from Admiral Kirk on the bridge of the Enterprise-B.

"Andrews," Admiral Cordwell began, "Well, first off before I disappoint you with anything, do you have a plan on how to deal with the final alien vessel?"

Taken slightly aback, Andrews responded, "Yes, sir. We have a lot more firepower than we did the first time we encountered a ship of this class in battle, however, their targeting systems have had an extended period of time to get used to our ship's superior manoeuvrability. So I suggest a simple maximum amount of firepower as fast and as hard as possible with as much blunt force as can be mustered to take down their shields. My task force will exit warp and wait for Gamma to arrive. Then I will split my force into two sub formations and we will begin our attack and either destroy the enemy or be destroyed,"

"Well. I guess you've had some time to plan it out," Admiral Cordwell said.

"Excuse me," Admiral Kirk interjected, "this may be out of place but is there no way to communicate with these... things. Is there no way to minimise casualties or slip by their sensors so we don't have to charge into a meat grinder like the ancient wars of Earth,"

"From what I've seen, no," Andrews answered, "but, you are welcome to try,"

"Then, I guess, with no other real option, Fleet Captain Andrews your action is approved. You are technically in command of Admiral Kirk as he is retired, however, he will be the head of diplomatic relations with the Romulans attached to his Taskforce. Good luck," Admiral Cordwell said, closing the channel shortly followed by Admiral Kirk.

"Well, I didn't even get to say anything," Captain Thomas said jokingly.

"Captain Thomas and Fleet Captain Andrews to the bridge. All hands condition yellow," a voice sounded over the ship-wide comms, signalling that the fleet was nearly at their destination, and their final battle. Hopefully.
