CHAPTER VI

It has been two days since the incident with Q, since anything dangerous or interesting has happened, and now the survey vessel USS Copernicus has arrived in-system with its escort, USS New Berlin. Their job is to find this dimensional rift (that was unknowingly made by Q), and try to figure out as much as possible from it.

The enemy vessel was still adrift in space, but it had not made any hostile moves and neither Captain Relor nor Commander Wang has yet done anything about the ship apart from furiously scanning it and questioning her captain, to which another questioning was scheduled in the next hour or so.

Relor had inspiration then, all the alien ship's remaining crew were non-sentient robots, so he could simply transport the vast majority of them into space, a few into the brig, and then occupy the ship free of resistance. In theory.

"Commander Andrews, see to it that five of the robots on that ship, preferably all of different types, are transported into the brig. And have extra security present in the brig. Then transport the remaining robots into open space" -Relor ordered

"Aye, sir," Andrews replied, hurriedly ordering around different officers on the bridge and accessing the comm panel to order around security teams and transporter chiefs.

"The Copernicus and New Berlin are approaching our location now, sir," Sabila reported.

"Good. However, a slight issue. Where the hell is this giant tear in space supposed to be? We haven't been able to find it yet, so how are we supposed to scan something we cannot see?" Relor asked, not expecting an answer.

"I'm sure we'll find a way captain," Andrews said.

Relor then bade his farewells to the crew on the bridge and made his way to the turbo lift on the left of his command chair, to make his way to the brig. It only took a couple of minutes to get there, however, it felt like an eternity away from the responsibilities of the bridge. He needed to be at his station if something happened, that's his place. But nothing has happened for days now and there are two more ships in-system, granted they have limited tactical capability. Things wouldn't magically blow up if he lifted his gaze for a moment.

It only took him a couple minutes to get to the brig, and once inside he was met with a very peculiar sight. In one cell: a Starfleet captain, in another: a very tall, pale, lanky alien that the security crews had lovingly named 'Bob' and in the last cell: five strange alien robots that possess some form of intelligence.

Not a normal sight of a Starfleet ship's brig. However, what of the last couple of weeks has been normal? Relor thought to himself.

He made his way to the cell holding the tall, pale alien and ordered the chief to power down the forcefield encapsulating the prisoner, and entered the cell with the forcefield reactivating behind him.

Relor had previously had the alien stripped and searched in case of any possible weapon or biological weapons that the alien could be carrying, and every micron of his skin and clothes were vigorously scanned and tested by the science labs. Solely from the politeness of Relor, the clothes were returned to the alien after they were cleared.

The Captain wanted to try a different method of interrogation of this alien, as he hadn't responded verbally yet. This new method was visual questioning. Visual images on Relor's padd would be shown to 'Bob' and communication would be attempted.

Relor attempted for around half an hour, showing the alien many different images like an image of his own ship, an image of the battle and many others, and he tried -and failed- to get the alien to draw something on the padd himself. The entire procedure began to feel like a waste of time as 'Bob' was refusing to cooperate, or simply not understanding, when an announcement began sounding from the com panel on the wall behind him, outside of the cell...
