I played with the water as I soaked in my bath; spreading ripples on the surface. It's been a while since I had a warm long bath. I was used to renting a timed bathroom in random inns just to be clean and most of the time they don't offer hot water.

I've been staying in the Kingdom of Credia for two days now. Nothing new about living in a different kingdom for a couple of days.

I've been doing it for years.

I always have a canvas pack with me that has all my necessities and it's all I need to move to a different place again.

They gave me a small hut outside of town which I was very grateful for. Not a lot of people would lend a private house to random strangers.

After scrubbing myself clean, I stood up and the water from my body dripped on the floor as I walked out of the tub. I faced the mirror and brushed my pale-white hair back. It only reached my shoulders for low maintenance. I had it shorter before because it was easier to clean but recently I didn't have the care to cut it.

The color of my hair is not that common here in the West. One look and they'll know where I'm from and how far away I am from home.

My attention was brought to my body. My skin was covered with white tattoos that wrapped around my body like living vines.

It was something we get when we turn eighteen. It's a tradition in our kingdom and something we are extremely proud to get, now I do everything I can to hide them.

I took the towel that was on the chair and wiped myself dry and headed for my bedroom.

As I looked for my clothes, I thought about how I would explain to the Royals that I needed to hide the color of my hair. Maybe I could handle it now. There has to be an herbal shop here somewhere that might have something to color my hair with.

I started to wear my clothing and finished it off by covering my face with the garments that wrapped around my head and leaving only my eyes.

In Trolux it wasn't a big deal having my whole body covered because the majority of the population there does the same thing, but here in Credia, I just know I'm going to spark some rumors about how I dress. I'm sure a lot of people will start to wonder what I was hiding.

I exited my little house and headed for town.

While walking I thought about the Dark Royal's assignment for me. I've never been to Kingdom Gona, but based on the talks of town, it's a very private place and the rumors were never good. Is staying there for an indefinite time worth it?

I sighed. Of course, it is. I needed the money.

Many people might think I'm crazy but I'm saving to buy a ship. That's all I've been saving up for.

What's the best way to disappear? Live afloat in the middle of an ocean.

I'm tired of hiding from Kingdom to Kingdom and keep looking behind me. I need the freedom.

I passed the market and a lot of people were already looking at me. Not because I looked like I was from Trolux, but because I didn't need this much cover-up in this heat, especially the ones on my face.

I reached a herbal shop and swung the door open and the bell above me rang as I entered.

A curly-haired woman at the counter looked up, "Oh hi, I don't think I've seen you here before," she said.

I looked away from her stare and awkwardly turned to the shelves by the wall; not responding. She cleared her throat, "Um, anyway, I'm Maria and if you need anything, I'm here," she still said politely that I felt guilty for being rude.
