Princess Faith

Morning came around and I slowly opened my eyes. I felt a lot better now compared to yesterday. Lady Antoinette is an awful woman but at least she can make the finest healing teas.

Grace was still behind me asleep. Jude was in front of me snoring while his legs were stretched wide open with his right leg on top of mine as if he was the only one in bed.

My heart swelled from my two siblings. I rarely get sick and this was the first time in a while we've had a sleepover.

I heard a groan and felt Grace roll over. "Good morning," I greeted.

She rubbed her eyes, "Morning," she mumbled and then faced me, "How are you feeling?" She asked.

I smiled at her, "A lot better, thank you," I said.

She smiled, "Good." Then she looked down, "I hate to ask but are you good to go out this afternoon?" She asked.

Well, I feel a lot better, though not perfect. But I didn't want to waste the opportunity to go out with my siblings. It's been such a long time since we hung out together outside of lunch and dinner gatherings. Especially since Grace got engaged and got busy. I was shocked she even stayed the night.

"Sure, where are we going?" I asked as I gently sat up and moved over Jude, careful not to wake him up as I proceeded to crawl out of bed.

Grace sat up on the bed and she opened her mouth to reply but someone knocked on the door before she could utter a word. We both turned as the door swung open and Jude stirred awake.

Lady Antoinette entered with a purpose but you could see her heave out of breath. I smirked knowing this was exactly why I picked the top floor.

"Your Highnesses, I prepared medicinal teas for all of you. I assume the virus is floating around this room at this moment," she said glaring at the surroundings as if she could literally see the virus floating.

Hartley entered with Jude and Grace's personal help carrying trays. I couldn't stop my eyes from following Hartley as she arranged the utensils on the table.

She was the only female servant wearing trousers since she was employed and I kind of got used to it. A woman wearing trousers in Gona is a novelty but it made me smile. Since none of the maid dresses could fit her, I assume Lady Marigold didn't prioritize making her a new one as much as all the nobles and royals who needed her expertise.

I tried to be discreet as I watched her. Why am I so intrigued by her?

Is it the height? I don't think so. I've been around a lot of tall Royals and their height never really pulled any emotion from me. I even danced and was courted by a lot of them.

Is it the subtle muscles? Hmm. No, I didn't really care about those either but I would admit it was a nice little bonus.

Or maybe it's the confident way she carries herself even as a servant?... Maybe? I don't know.

There were a lot of possible reasons why I was so intrigued by her but I couldn't find the specific reason.

As I studied Hartley I wondered, what was it like in their kingdom? She was from Trolux wasn't she?

I suddenly noticed that I wasn't the only one looking at her. While I looked at her with interest, Lily, Jude's personal servant, looked at her with a little shine in her eye. I know what that look meant.

Jude talked about Lily a lot especially because he played draughts with her almost daily, but I personally, never got the chance to get to know her.

I heard Lily was from a kingdom called Yarnat, so I knew her thinking would not be like the Gonians. Their people don't have any limitations when it comes to their attraction. As long as it is consensual no one really cares.
