The atmosphere was getting thicker of cruel anticipation and sickening coldness of unpreventable war. Eugene was supporting Negan's every wish, meanwhile creating new bullets and ways to harm Alexandria. Although, Negan never told Eleanor that.

If anything, he didn't see Eleanor around as often as he did before. Granted he could get up, annoy her, maybe stick her in his room to keep her safe. But now? She stayed in the own room he handed her. Her head was far up in books, and some random comics she's traded for and she spent most of her time doodling in crinkled pieces of paper.

Eleanor didn't know anything.

Carl's death affected everyone. It affected Eleanor from inside the Sanctuary, Hilltop distraught and upset and even the Kingdom members were in deep sorrow. It was a loss across all people, and they didn't know what to do.

So they decided to fight.

The Saviours against everyone else. And they really thought they had a chance... After weeks of planning, they finally decided to get up. Negan and the Saviours hit a middle ground with Alexandria and after retreating back - one person was missing.

Negan.

Simon was power-hungry and picked up the title very quickly. Eleanor's peace was quickly disturbed.

"Good afternoon, Ellie!" Simon bellowed with a heartedly grin.

She deadpanned him. "Bobl bach, what do you want Simon?"

He was picking at her stuff, looking through her drawers like an utter creep. It was one thing touching her stuff, another to look through her clothes. It might've been funny if Negan did it, but it was downright ugly when it was him. "I thought i'd keep you company for a bit." Elle rolled her eyes and went back to her book. "Maybe take a trip down to memory lane. You know Hilltop, right?"

Eleanor's throat got dry but still, she pretended her book was far more interesting. "Oh, come on, Ellie. You know Glenn, and you definitely know Maggie." He playfully nudged her shoulder. Please fuck off. "I thought... you, me - littl' Dwighty-boy, could go see them. Send them our best of wishes."

"You're taking the piss." She said while shrugging his hand from her shoulder. "Where's Negan?"

"Always worried about the wrong people, sunshine-"

"Don't call me sunshine."

He laughed at her reaction. "I see. The big boss coined the nickname, right?" He shook his head and sat down on the counter she was reading from. "Well, sunshine, boss isn't here anymore. Missing yet again."

"And you're just so eager to grab the title, aren't you?"

Simon closed her book and put it down, "Who doesn't love a bit of power?"

Eleanor rolled her eyes and pulled away from the area that contained him. "Leave me alone, Simon." He laughed, "Just piss off-"

"I was being serious, sunshine." He walked closer to her, while his hand creeped to the gun on his waist. "Let's go see Hilltop, shall we?"

She scoffed, "I said..." She turned around. "Piss of—" The but of Simon's gun went straight across her face.

Fucking Simon.

He watched with a pleasant smile as she dropped to the floor and nudged her slightly with the tip of his boot. "I wasn't lying, sunshine." He knelt down with a quizzical look, as if he was inspecting her. He started at her eyelashes, her freckly nose, her plump lips with a tiny gap and the way her complexion looked so soft even in this shithole.
