Nothing wrong with having a heart.

Nothing wrong with having a heart.

Nothing wrong... okay. Them words stayed imbedded in her brain like a flu and no matter how much she tried to shake them away, it didn't fucking work. Nothing fucking worked at this point.

Michonne and Judith were gone before Elle could find Mich and apologise. Be the bigger person and all that. And the rest of Alexandria was getting settled in carts and horses with their best clothes - ready for the fair at the Kingdom.

It was a whole thing to lift morale and boost happiness, seeking foods and goodies and doing little games for a good laugh. Ezekiel is doing a speech about Rick.

So, naturally, Elle wasn't going.

Maya was leaving with Gabriel and Aaron, RJ and Gracie with them as Rosita, Eugene and Siddiq went along. Basically everyone was going beside Eleanor. The woman just knew that as soon as Ezekiel mustered the words: Rick, then her emotions would spill out and people would look at her like she was a mess.

But it also meant that Eleanor could distract herself by making sure Alexandria was protected head to toe. She spent an hour or so sniping walkers through a scope on the watchtower, watering plants in the flowerbeds while doing a walk around the whole closed village to make sure everything was okay.

She moved her pawn forwards.

"Alright, so you can open this door for me to play chess... but won't for moral support?" Negan laughed and moved his piece forward two spaces. "Your standards are damn shocking."

"Shut up." She smirked and moved her bishop. "No one's here... and I was on the edge of losing my sanity if I waltzed around doing nothing."

"Ah... calm before the storm." He winked. "Happy to keep your composure, Sunshine." Eleanor looked up at him to see him grinning like a feign. It made her roll her eyes but she was still thankful that despite him being everyone's number one enemy, he still was able to make a girl smile. "You looking after yourself yet?"

Eleanor scoffed. "Stop talking about me to Maya."

Negan had his normal smirk and moved his bishop. "Can't help it, doll. You're my only form of entertainment-"

"No, I'm the only person who can put up with your shit."

"That too."

Eleanor exhaled through her nose and looked at the chess board. What to move? The only thing keeping her playing this game is that even if Elle was rubbish, so was Negan. So, she moved another pawn. "Where is everyone?"

"Fair at the Kingdom." She watched as he picked up a piece and knocked down her closest pawn. "Judith and Maya been trying to get Michonne and me to go. They were only like 50% successful though."

"Damn, sunshine. Rather spend time with me than those flannels, huh?"

Elle moved her pawn sideways and knocked down his bishop. "They ain't flannels, you dick. They've gone through so fucking much while you've been hunched in this cozy cell."

"You know what else is cozy?" He suggested with wriggly brows.

"Stop."

He put his hands up in surrender but that lustful and teasing smirk never left. "Alright, alright." Negan focused back on the chess board at the same time Elle leaned back to rest on her open palm. As soon as she moved, his brown eyes wandered upwards to take her in.

Her coat was in a pile by the cell door so all she was wearing was a tight white tank top, sucking in her curves at all the right places. You could even see her red bra strap peeking out behind the material.
