"[Name]... I want you to be extra careful for the next few weeks,"

Toji stated seriously.

Toji stood before your desk in your office, holding a stack of papers in his hand. Some time had passed since your last you ran into that detective, and Toji seemed noticeably more cautious with his actions in recent days.

"Why?" you asked.

"I have a feeling that the police are going to start investigating us soon," he explained, his tone sincere. He leaned against your desk, watching as you filed the papers onto a shelf. Your reaction showed that you didn't care about too much police attention. You had managed to convince yourself that the authorities were too incompetent and lazy to care.

"Well, isn't that unfortunate... But why are you telling me this so suddenly?" you questioned, raising an eyebrow as you observed Toji's unusual behavior. "Is it because of Gojo? The detective?"

"That's none of your business," Toji scoffed, annoyance evident in his tone. He walked toward the door, his intention clearly to exit. With a playful smirk, you followed right behind him "If you want, I could take care of him for you," you suggested, leaning against the wall near the door. Your gaze was fixed on Toji, who was about to open the door.

"Don't even think about it... I'll handle it myself," Toji insisted before exiting and shutting the door behind him.

"Well, it was worth a try..."

"Gojo Satoru huh?" Seated on your couch, you engaged in a background check on Gojo Satoru via your work laptop. Maki hadn't returned from her job yet, giving you the freedom to move around the apartment in only an oversized t- shirt and panties, without any comments from her on how it was too cold to be dressing like that.

However, your attempt to gather information about Gojo seemed to be failing. You were eager to uncover his connection to Toji and understand Toji's reaction whenever Gojo's name was even mentioned.

Your investigation was interrupted once your phone, located in the shared bedroom you and Maki slept in, began to ring loudly. Closing your tabs, you sighed in annoyance as you sluggishly made your way toward the bedroom.

"Stupid ass ringtone," you grumbled as you answered the call, pressing the phone to your ear.

"[Name]? Are you there?"

"Toji? Why are you calling from a random number?" you asked as you exited the bedroom and returned to your seat. "And please make it quick, my favorite show is about to start."

"My phone's dead, so I'm using another one... Anyway, I need a favor from you involving Maki."

"What is it?"

"I've learned that Maki has some connection to Gojo. Could you please to get her to gather some background information on him?" Toji's requested, a mixture of hope and desperation in his voice.

Despite your respect for Toji and your willingness to accept his offers, you were hesitant to exploit and manipulate your girlfriend for information (Strange because you murder people for her and lie to her about it everyday). You also desired to keep Maki distant from Toji's potentially dangerous events. "I refuse," you stated firmly before ending the call.

It didn't take long as your phone began to ring again.

"What."

"[Name], I really need your help with this."

"I already said no. I won't involve Maki in anything shady," you replied, hanging up once more. Even so, the calls continued. Growing increasingly impatient, you grabbed the phone from the table, answering Toji's call once more.

"Hello--"

"STOP FUCKING CALLING ME YOU DUMBASS BITCH!! I HAVE REPETEDLY TOLD YOU THAT I'M NOT GOING TO DO IT. STOP IT YOU BULKY CHUNK OF NOTHING. IF I CATCH YOUR ASS CALLING ME ONE MORE TIME... I'M GOING TO BURN DOWN YOU AND YOUR WHOLE STUPID FUCKING BUILDING INTO BITS" You yelled furiously into the phone, hanging up for the last time.

"Gosh, who's got you pissed off like that?" Maki appeared behind you on the sofa, her tone a mix of amusement and curiosity. You turned to look at her, caught off guard by her sudden presence. Your anger and frustration from dealing with Toji still stayed within you, making it difficult to immediately switch gears. You offered Maki a forced smile, trying to push away your earlier outburst.

"Oh, it's just work stuff and shit. You know how it gets sometimes," you replied, your voice attempting to sound casual while your mind raced to come up with a convincing explanation. Maki's eyebrows raised in suspicion. "Work stuff, huh? It must be some serious work stuff to get you yelling like that."

You let out a short laugh, hoping to ease the tension. "Yeah, you could say that. You know how these things can get under your skin." Maki nodded, her gaze still fixed on you. "Alright, but if it gets under you skin and you wanna talk about, you know I'm here, right?"
"Of course, Maki," you said, reaching over to give her hand a reassuring squeeze.

As Maki leaned in to give you a gentle kiss on the cheek, you couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt well up within you. She was completely unaware of the dark world you were entangled in, and her genuine concern only made your deception feel heavier. As psychopathic as you were, you still had a heart and emotions. You hugged her tightly, burying your face in her shoulder for a moment, trying to push away your negative emotions for a bit.

Over the next few days, Toji's persistent and annoying calls continued, you hadn't changed your mind at all, you intended to keep Maki away from his demands. You forged excuses to keep her occupied and out of the loop, hoping that Toji would eventually give up. But you Toji for too long,

you knew that Toji wasn't one to back down easily.
