A/N: Warning! Triggering scene ahead
UNKNOWN POV
The dream of every child at the orphanage is to get adopted by loving parents who would provide them with the needs and wants that they had never been privileged to have. It wasn't like anyone to envy a child in an orphanage, like what would you be envious of? Meals that were the size of their fists? The barely hygienic environment or was it the occasion that had brought them there in the first place.
As far as I knew, the orphanage was where I grew up, were all my childhood memories happened. At least some were privileged to at least have had a taste of a proper life before been thrown into this.
I had always sulked about the fact that I wasn't taken to all those orphanages that at least made the child comfortable but who was I to judge, the least I could do was to be grateful that at least I had a place to stay.
I had always been the social bee, making friends was never a problem. Everyone knew my name, I was the most loved child in the orphanage, I didn't need anybody to tell me, the signs where clear.
Everyone taught it would be among the first to get adopted, people didn't really come to the orphanage to begin with, they always fancied the bigger, cleaner and better ones. I couldn't blame them though, the sight of the building of the orphanage alone was enough to chase you away but still people came and some of us got adopted.
Year by year, I watched as all my friends left me. We did our secret tradition together, all ten of us, we'll starve the night before anybody came to visit, in hopes of getting adopted. We were stupid and childish but we were also desperate.
We all thought I would be the first to get adopted. I was the smartest and the most beautiful girl in the orphanage, isn't that what all parents wanted?
The year of my fourteenth birthday came and yet again I was spending it in the orphanage, sad and lonely, left with no friends. Nobody had ever stayed that long. I had already lost all hope, so imagine the joy and surprise when I got adopted on that same day. It was like a dream come true. No one really went for teenagers, they all wanted the babies or toodlers.
As if that wasn't enough, the person who adopted me was also very rich. I got the live in wanted, fulfilled all my fantasy. I was happy. All that came crashing down on my fifteenth birthday.
I should have known that it was too good to be true, I should have known that all these could never be real, too bad I had to find out on the night of my fifteenth birthday. That day was the worst day of my life.
~Flashback
I was on my bed replying to all the birthday wishes I had gotten from my friends. The smile on my face was so wide, my laughter and giggles filled my large pink themed bedroom.
'Happy birthday❤'
My scream filled the whole mansion, finally he had sent a message. My reaction was basically the reaction you would get from any girl when it came to the matters of her crush. I first fawned over the fact that he messaged me, seeing as we don't talk except from school matters and then I almost had a heart attack when I saw the heart emoji.
Finally, he had noticed me.
The next stop was my bestfriend and I chats, were I filled her with the information and then we had a video call were we laughed, screamed and teased eachother.
There was a knock on my door
"Open the door angel"
"You promised me you would be back home early" I snapped, my voice haughty
