Don't forget about the loopholes in the story.
EDUVIE ARIETH EFUA
Speech and prize giving day is an annual event, held after the end of every session. People like Jasmine and Co, always collected one award or the other. I always prayed to collect a prize but so far I had only collected one, and the was when I was in JSS2.
I sat next to Itohan, there was a row for each class and then a row for parents, which most of the time extended into two rows. The halls was very big so it contained all of us and there was still enough space to roam around freely.
Itohan was busily checking her attire to see if anything was not in place, obviously she knew her name would be called, meanwhile I was here sitting beside her while guilt ate me away.
I didn't tell her what happened the day before yesterday.
--Flashback--
My hand immediately went to my mouth to cover up my gasp. I blinked multiple times to see if I was seeing clearly. The stupid Senior Richard-- why am I even calling him senior sef-- even had the guts to still peck her on her cheeks and that one was busy smiling like mumu.
I watched as they walked away holding hands. I was still in a state of surprise. I wanted to follow them, I wanted to slap senior Abasi right across the face after I finish murdering that nonsense Richard.
This is why I can never have a bestfriend. They will always end up stabbing you in the back. Who would have ever believed that 'cute senior Abasi' could do this to Imose. Anyways, I should have expected this, it's always the innocent looking ones that end up being the devil's.
I was about to go back to the class when I saw Itohan walking out of a corner. Immediately she saw me she smiled and I felt like the worse person on earth.
"Hey, are you okay. Why is your face Like this?" She asked, her face deep in concern.
"Nothing. Don't worry, it's nothing"
"Are you sure, did something happen?"
"Let's go to class" I changed the topic, dragging her to class.
I'm the worst friend ever.
--End of Flashback--
As if that wasn't enough, I bumped into Richard later in the day and confronted him about it.
--Another flashback--
"I know what you did Richard. You are a liar, a cheat and an imposter" I said lowly, venom dripping from my voice.
"I don't under--"
"Please spare me the bullshit!" I cut him off "I know you are cheating on Imose with her bestfriend"
He looked shocked for a moment but her quickly masked it.
"What nonsense are you talking about"
"Nonsense?" I laughed "I saw you both, laughing and kissing and behaving like a couple."
He laughed.
"Well we tried nau, since when and nobody found out--"
I slapped him. I slapped him so hard, my palms stung. What is he made off? Iron?
He held his cheek then laughed bitterly.
"You are lucky I don't hit females Arieth, if not I would have beaten you up to the point that you won't ever remember your name"
