Keefe:

One week. I haven't talked to her in a week.

I'm not crying or upset, I don't really feel anything. I just don't feel like myself. Like a part of me is missing.

I have that annoying feeling when you're dying to talk to someone but are too stubborn to reach out first.

"Keefe I'm going to head out to Atlantis." Elwin says peeking through the door.

"Yep."

"Bye. And for god's sake put on a shirt in case someone comes over." He teases.

"Yeah, yeah." I laugh.

After an hour of sketching and staring into space there's a knock on my door.

There's a spark of hope but it was put out when the door opened.

It was Fitz and Dex.

"Hey. Just coming to see how you are." Fitz says flopping down on my bed with an exaggerated oomph. Dex rolls his eyes at him but is smiling at his boyfriend softly.

I smirk at them. They're too adorable.

Damn. I think Biana's rubbing off on me.

"Yeah I'm good."

"No abilities yet?" Dex asks.

"Nope." I reply, popping the 'p'.

"No Sophie yet?"

I pause. "No......how is she? Is she ok?"

"She's.....a bit of a mess."

"Why don't you just talk to her?" Fitz questions.

"Why doesn't she talk to me?"

"One of you is going to have to put aside your pride first. You're both stubborn people but this is getting silly."

"Why should I have to be the one to give in? She hurt me. I'm not going to her so she can apologise to me. It doesn't make sense."

"I guess."

"Come on. I miss being your third wheel."

Fitz and I burst out laughing at that.

"At least you get to be the third wheel," Fitz sighs dramatically "I'm just there like, hi it's me. I was your friend when you were single."

"Oh come on, you guys go lovey dovey on me sometimes when we hang out with just the boys. I have to talk to bangs boi."

"You're so immature."

"How dare you!" I exclaim with mock hurt.

"Dude," Fitz laughs "remember when we did that project on what human animal you'd like to be. You picked a bird. Not because it was cute or you could fly around on stuff. It was so you could poop on human cars."

"I forgot about that."

Dex was on the floor wheezing. "Only you Keefe Sencen." He chokes out.

I roll my eyes at his over the top dramatics. "So you wouldn't do the same."

"Nah. I'd be a dog maybe."

"What?! So you can get touched by people all day and they can throw sticks at you?" I don't know what is wrong with this child.

"No! Because they're man's best friend and......" he sighed at Fitz and I, who were very confused "you know what never mind."

"Seriously though. Back to serious conversation. You're not yourself. You haven't even styled your hair in the last week." Fitz says steering us away from that conversation that made no sense.

That was true. It was not as artfully mussed. It was more naturally messy. Some would say it was styled in a more, I just got out of bed and don't care what you think of my hair right now kinda look.

"Yeah it's pretty messy." Dex agreed, interrupting me from my hair thoughts.

"It's not messy. It's just erupting with awesomeness." I say completely deadpan.

Then there was another knock on the door. It opens slowly.

It's Foster. Finally.

She looked beautiful. He hair was natural and wavy. She had an ice blue tunic. And she had put on that gold eyeliner that made her eyes even more beautiful and a little mascara.

I couldn't even say anything.

"Keefe." Her voice. I've missed it.

Our eyes meet, my heart flutters.

"Can we talk?" She looks crazy nervous but it somehow makes her look even more adorable. She tugs at her eyelashes shyly.

"Yeah." For some reason my voice is husky. I clear my thought awkwardly.

I stand up. There's a metre between us now.

She's staring at my lips.

"My eyes are up here Foster." I tease, trying my best to break the awkward silence.

"Yeah. We're gonna go, the amount of sexual tension in here is kinda suffocating." Dex interrupts, almost running out the door.

Fitz stands there. "Yeah. What he said. I...I um I'm really awkward in awkward situations so....I'm just making things awkwarder so I'm gonna go a-"

"Just leave before you make things even worse Fitz." Dexs shouts from the hall. Fitz scrambled out of the room as I resisted the urge to facepalm.

I'm filled with nerves for no reason. But I try to convince myself that it's fine to be nervous.

It usually means you're doing something right.
