Chapter 12

Sophie's P.O.V

I stood back as Elwin treated Keefe for his bruises and checked his leg for any set backs. And talked to him about his panic attacks.

I can't get my head around that he's been having them since he was 10 and never told me. It stung alot more then I'd ever admit. We tell each other everything.
But I have a new mission now, to just be there for him more than ever. He still struggling with his mom and now he's going to struggling with this too. And to top it all off Ro is still missing, and he fears the worst, I know he does.

I make my way over to Grady and Edaline. They look worried, Keefe has become more like a son to them since we started dating and basically lived at there house most of the time. Edaline had a special soft spot for him though, she always did.

"Mom? Dad?...can Keefe stay over for the next few days"

"Yes." Edaline replies immediately.

Grady didn't look as sure. His overprotectiveness kicking in.

"Please dad? He needs me and he sleeps over sometimes anyway out at Calla's panakes."

"I know...of course he can kiddo."

I gave him a grateful smile. "Thanks dad...and mom." I gave them both a hug but then I hear arguing.

I turn around to see Alden and Elwin on either side of Keefe. I sighed, I know what's going on.

"Elwin, Everglen has been a home to Keefe for years he's going to be staying with us."

"Alden with all due respect, I already know that, and don't you think it's better if Keefe has a bit more one on one time after everything? You have your kids Alden, they'll always be first but I will always put Keefe first and I think that's what he needs." Elwin sounds alot calmer then Alden.

I look at Keefe. At this point he just looked ready to fall asleep.

"Uh guys," they keep arguing "GUYS," they both turn to face me "uh..I think for next couple of days Keefe should stay with me."

That shut them up.

"Yes Sophie, I think that is the best thing to do for the time being." Alden replies first.

Elwin gives her a friendly smile.
"I think that's a good idea Sophie, Keefe doesn't need all this silly arguing."

Alden gave him a look that seemed to say 'we'll finish this later.'

I sigh and went over to Keefe. He offered a tired smile. I grab his hand. "Your coming home with me."

"That's the best thing I've heard all day."
