I led Keefe over to Calla's panakes he looks so crushed. I hate seeing him like this.

It was about midday but Keefe was just so mentally drained he just laid his head on my lap. And soon enough was asleep.

I sigh, gently stroking his hair.

The next few days are to be going to be hard. The council wanted to question Keefe today about Lord Cassius but I wouldn't let them, I want to give him the rest of this day to just get his head around everything before all hell breaks loose. Once they questioned Keefe, Lord Cassius would surely be sent down for physical abuse. I know he deserves to be locked up but it's still going to be hard for Keefe.

Keefe stirs after a few minutes and rubs his eyes sleepily. He sits up and lies back against Calla's tree. He turns to face me. "Sorry fos-boss, just tired."

I meet his gorgeous ice blue eyes. "Don't apologise."

He smiles a beautiful smile. A real smile.

We so close now. My heart switches into hummingbird mode.

I close the gap. I can feel his smile against my lips as he wraps his arms around my waist pulling me even closer. I run my hands through his hair, he'll probably whine about that later but I know he loves it really.

"Uh.....guys?"

We jump apart and I'm snapped back into reality.

It's Dex.

"Sorry to uh.... interrupt but my mom wanted me to bring over some mallowmelt..cause uh..to.. y'know...."

"Thanks Dex." That's my pitiful attempt to save my cousin from embarrassment. I can't even hide the disappointment in my voice.

"Well..um..I can leave if you want to..."

"Stop being awkward Dex, I'm ok...really. Aaand you've definitely seen us making out before." Keefe interrupts.

I glare at him "Keefe!"

Dex just laughs and shrugs it off "he's not wrong."

He then comes and sits down across from us putting the plate of mallowmelt in the middle.

"I wasn't really sure if it was a good idea to come over so soon but I thought maybe you might need a distraction or something and I know you have Sophie but I wanna be there for you too, you've been a good friend to me and I just..."

I glance at Keefe.

"Thanks Dex, I really appreciate it...a lot more than think."

Dex turns an awkward shade of pink. Sort of a fushcia colour.

I smile softly at Keefe as him and Dex launch into a conversation about superheroes or something.

"Look Keefe! She's daydreaming about you, yet again!" I'm pulled out of my daze and turn a fire engine red.

Keefe just smirks at me.

"What else would she be doing?" Him and Dex then burst out laughing.

I think that's when I know he going to get through this. It's gonna be hard, really hard.

But it'll work out eventually.
